Trinity Repertory Company invites the public to join in the conversation sparked by their upcoming production of Intimate Apparel, at a panel event hosted on the show's set. Peeling Back the Layers: An Intimate Knowledge of Women's Undergarments, will take place Monday, February 3, 6:00-8:00pm in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater. This event is free and open to the public. The public panels held throughout the season further Trinity Rep's mission to reinvent the public square and nurture dialogue among the community.

Recently, a friend mentioned his girlfriend's exciting new "big promotion and raise." Providing more details, he added that she would now be making close to thirty-five thousand per year. This could not help but make me wonder about the state of our country's current economic and employment crises. It is clear that a "new normal" has been established in the United States, where the vast majority scrape by, just surviving, mostly by working hourly-wage, low-paying jobs. Where once the dream was a comfortable, secure, middle-class or even upper-middle-class-life, that life no longer exists for many, if not most. It's been replaced by a much less secure or comfortable existence that fewer and fewer have the hope to climb out of. This predicament is perfectly brought to very real life by David Lindsay-Abaire's play Good People, playing at the Sandra Feinstein Gamm Theatre.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) stages the Rhode Island premiere of Good People, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's tough, tender and seriously funny play about class divisions and the shrinking American Dream. Adapted for the stage by Frank Galati, this evocative and deeply affecting stage version promises to lift Steinbeck's novel to new heights of theatrical urgency, especially when married with director Brian McEleney's visceral storytelling style. Part naturalistic epic, part road novel, part inspirational gospel, The Grapes of Wrath boasts a 17 member cast and original folk-rock music from the show's band, 3pile. Trinity Repertory Company, the State Theater of Rhode Island is proud to announce that three new company members have been added to their resident acting company roster - Mia Ellis, Rebecca Gibel and Charlie Thurston. All three performers are Brown/Trinity Rep MFA acting program graduates and no strangers to the Trinity Rep stage, having appeared in multiple productions over the past several seasons. The three join Trinity Rep's current resident acting company members: Stephen Berenson, Angela Brazil, Timothy Crowe, Mauro Hantman, Janice Duclos, Brian McEleney, Phyllis Kay, Anne Scurria, Barbara Meek, Fred Sullivan, Jr., Stephen Thorne, Rachael Warren, and Joe Wilson, Jr.

Trinity Rep celebrates the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens with their annual presentation of his classic tale of A Christmas Carol, as adapted by Adrian Hall and Richard Cumming, presented by Cardi's Furniture with supporting sponsor Amica Insurance. Performances begin tonight, November 10th and run through December 29th. Appealing to young and old alike, this heartwarming story of the power of forgiveness shows us that anything is possible - and hope is always just around the corner.
