Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF is proud to present Steve Yockey's Pluto, part of Harriett's New Play Series, from February 27 - March 23, 2014. In collaboration with Atlanta's Actor's Express and Washington, DC's Forum Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theater will produce the National New Play Network's (NNPN) 35th Rolling World Premiere through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund. Directed by Mark Routhier, the production features Orlando actors John Connon, Jillian Gizzi, Heather Leonardi, Chris Metz, and Suzanne O'Donnell. This fast-paced weekend is packed with lively discussions, engaging panels, and new play readings, along with a keynote speech from award-winning playwright Lee Blessing. PlayFest 2013 is part of Harriett's New Play Series and marks the eleventh festival of new plays at Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF will host a live Twitter Q&A session on Monday, August 19 between noon and 12:30 p.m in anticipation of the World Premiere dark comedy, The Cortez Method. Playwright Rob Keefe and Director Mark Routhier will answer questions about developing the play from page to stage via Twitter for 30 minutes. Southern Rep to Stage MOLD World Premiere, 3/20-4/14

Southern Rep Theatre continues its 26th Season Mainstage Series with the World Premiere of MOLD by John Biguenet at The Contemporary Arts Center directed by Mark Routhier starring Trey Burvant, Kerry Cahill, Randy Maggiore, and Carol Sutton. In MOLD, John Biguenet, Louisiana Writer of the Year 2012, completes his award-winning Rising Water Trilogy including RISING WATER and SHOTGUN about the flooding of New Orleans and its aftermath. Set the summer after the levee collapse MOLD depicts a young husband forced to choose between his wife and the city he loves. The production runs between March 20 and April 14. (more...)
