Award-winning singer and PBS/WNET and NY affiliates Host for Andrea Bocelli “Live From Central Park” and “Il Volo Takes Flight” CRISTINA FONTANELLI brings her program of Italy's best-loved songs, arias, Neapolitan and Christmas classics during her 10th-Annual “Christmas In Italy” concert at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 7 at 3:00 PM the culmination of the Year of Italian Culture in the United States which was designated by the Italian government. This year's concert will also honor several living WWII Italian-American veterans in memory of Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941. Acclaimed actor Tony Lo Bianco will read a special memorial poem in honor of the veterans and PBS-TV's Jim Masters will emcee. Called a “vocal genius” by the New York Sun, Ms. Fontanelli's show is a love letter to her Italian heritage and a tribute to her grandparents. “I decided to begin this annual Holiday tradition to preserve Italy's great classic and popular song heritage and to teach them and the values they represent to younger generations.” says Ms. Fontanelli. Internationally renowned tenor Michael Amante, affectionately known as "The People's Tenor," and one of the touring New York Tenors, will play the Freddie Trumper role as a lonely American chess wizard in TheatreZone's production of Chess - the Musical today announced artistic director Mark Danni. Tickets are available for 10 performances March 6 through March 16, 2014.

Knoxville Opera will open its 36th Season with a stunning production of Offenbach's popular The Tales of Hoffmann, on October 25th and 27th, at the magnificent Tennessee Theatre. The production stars Talise Trevigne, performing all four soprano roles, a rare feat tackled by very few artists in history.

ArtsLab OnStage (http://www.ArtsLabOnstageNYC.com) will present a special evening of Italian theatre entitled Voices of Italy at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street) on October 19 at 8:00 PM, featuring a preview of T'Ammore, 'The Spirit of Naples' and Belcanto, 'The Luciano Pavarotti Heritage'. This event will demonstrate the influence of Italy's contemporary artistic talents, and serve as an introduction to more Italian cultural performances produced by ArtsLab OnStage in New York. Performers from T'Ammore and Belcanto will also be featured in this year's Columbus Day Parade with Live TV performances from the 'Red Carpet'.
