Gibney Company will honor the 30th anniversary of its founding with “An Evening with Gibney Company,” a free, virtual gala on June 30, 2021, from 7:30-8:00 p.m. on Gibney’s YouTube channel. The centerpiece of the evening will be the world premiere of a dance film by newly appointed Choreographic Associate Rena Butler.

The Royal Ballet celebrates contemporary choreography in an evening that demonstrates the breadth of choreographic talent working with the Company today.  This performance will be available to watch from 28 May 2021 until 27 June 2021. Check out clips of rehearsal for the event!

Continuing the week that dance returned to the UK, the Royal Ballet favoured a contemporary focus with a mixed bill under the banner title, 21st Century Choreographers. As if the occasion needed further anticipation, earlier that day both immediate and upcoming promotions were announced, with First Soloists Fumi Kaneko and Mayara Magri making the step up to Principal. As at Sadler’s Wells the night before, there was giddy applause and foot-stamping as we were welcomed to the performance and a spontaneous standing ovation before anyone had danced a step: heart-swelling stuff. 

Sydney Chatman and Congo Square Theatre Company were announced this week as recipients of the Joyce Foundation's 2021 Joyce Awards. After five months, the Royal Ballet will welcome back audiences to the Royal Opera House on Tuesday with '21st Century Choreographers.'

Today the Royal Opera House has announced more details of its schedule of in-person and streamed Spring and Summer performances, with public booking opening on 7 May 2021 and the doors opening to socially-distanced, in-person audiences from 17 May 2021.

New York City Ballet announced today that award-winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola will direct a film for the Company’s current digital season, which will premiere at NYCB’s 2021 Spring Gala—the Company’s first-ever virtual gala event—on Wednesday, May 5. 

Milton is an original production and biography in motion created and directed by Kaylin Horgan and set to the original score of local pop artists;Treble NLS and Brittney Chantele. Premiering April 8th at 8 pm followed by two more showings on April 9th at 11 am and 8pm at the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Martha Graham Dance Company’s will present the premiere of Elisa Monte’s signature work, Treading (1979), four solos by Sir Robert Cohan, Lamentation Variations by Kyle Abraham, Richard Move, and Nicolas Paul, and the duet from Troy Schumacher’s The Auditions, created for the Company in 2019.
