The Soaking WET dance series, curated by David Parker and Jeff Kazin, returns to the West End Theater with two performances daily, February 4-7, showing all world premieres by choreographers Garnet Henderson and Kai Kleinbard (early shows), and the Barkin/Selissen Project (later performances).   The charming and friendly West End Theater is located on the 2nd floor of the Church at 263 West 86th Street (corner of 86th & West End). December 15, 2015: NYU Tisch School of the Arts today announced its 50th Anniversary Gala, Celebrating the Past/Creating the Future, to be held on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The event will be hosted by alumni Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee and will honor the contributions of the Tisch family. Grammy-award winning singer Lauryn Hill was in attendance for the debut of the powerful work in which a dozen Ailey dancers lead the audience on a cathartic journey of dissonance and harmony, chaos and resolution. What a wonderful and stimulating compilation of works by both seasoned and emerging contemporary dance artists! REVERBdance, in partnership with Steps Beyond Foundation, presented the 10th anniversary of the REVERBdance Festival at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on November 6-8, 2015. Here, dancers and choreographers come from across the U.S. and the world, including South Africa, London, and Japan. A special feature of this program was the festival awards based on audience vote in three distinct prizes: the Steps on Broadway Dancer Award--one month of free classes at Steps on Broadway, a commission by the Steps Beyond Foundation for the Steps Repertory Ensemble, and a $1,000 REVERB Award.
