Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company (PCTC) has announced the winners of Fight Forward New Play Festival.

Winner of numerous IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards, Moonbox Productions is excited to kick-off its season with the debut of two original plays by two local playwrights and Moonbox alumni, Jonathan by Mary ElizaBeth Peters and The Good Deli by Kevin Cirone.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre announces the in-person return of its annual celebration of new short plays. Boston Theater Marathon XXIV will feature 50 ten-minute plays written by New England playwrights and presented by New England theatre companies. The event will take place in BPT's home theatre on Boston University's West Campus.

Moonbox Productions has announced its theatrical line up for the 2021-2022 season.  In October, Moonbox kicks-off its season with Richard O’Brien’s hilarious cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show, followed in December by the Tony nominated comedy-drama rock musical, Passing Strange.

Moonbox Productions has announce that it has selected eleven original plays by local playwrights for its 1st Annual Boston New Works Festival.  Moonbox will host the New Works Festival June 24-26, 2022 at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Boston Playwrights’ Theatre will present Boston Theater Marathon XXIII: Special Zoom Edition, featuring 50 ten-minute plays written by New England playwrights and presented by New England theatre companies via the video conferencing tool Zoom.

The world premiere of Boston playwright Michael Walker's BARE STAGE lands smack in the middle of the zeitgeist, surrounded by the swirling maelstrom of #MeToo and a building movement within the theater arts community to pay attention to the needs of actors when they are at their most vulnerable. Walker wades deeply into an exploration of nudity on stage, seeking to answer the question of when it is essential to the play, and when it crosses the boundary to objectification or exploitation. The bottom line is to find the balance between the point/counterpoint of censorship vs. artistic freedom.

Announcing the world premiere of bare stage, a new play by award-winning Boston Playwright Michael Walker (Absolutely Dead, Dancing in the Garden). bare stage gives voice to the challenges and difficulties all participants face in a play with nudity, while calling into question the issues of censorship, artistic freedom, body-shaming, exploitation and simple morality surrounding the writing, production and performance of plays with nudity. bare stage seeks to answer the critical question - "When is nudity essential to the play, and when is it exploitation and a distraction?"

Moonbox Productions requires you to use your imagination, but you will be duly rewarded thanks to the talents of Director Allison Olivia Choat, her crew, and the four-person cast of THE 39 STEPS. Kevin Cirone, Sarah Gazdowicz, Bob Mussett, and Matthew Zahnzinger are all top-notch, and the designers pull out all the stops to take you on a wild ride.

Moonbox Productions, nominated for numerous IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards, is thrilled to present the hilarious comic thriller, The 39 Steps, by Patrick Barlow and John Buchan. Produced by Sharman Altshuler and directed by IRNE and Norton nominated Director, Allison Olivia Choat, The 39 Steps opens on November 17th and runs through December 9th at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theater, 539 Tremont Street, Boston. Rhode Island's theater community had much to celebrate in 2015.  Outstanding productions graced stages from the East Bay to South County, up-and-coming theatrical companies left their mark on the arts scene, and excellent concerts and dance events made for some of the best performances of the year.
