The theatre is unveiling a new lobby facility to complement the Hurst Theatre, which was erected last summer. Tickets are now on sale for two winter productions at Theatre Aspen, an award-winning professional theatre in the Rocky Mountains. Theatre Aspen School presents the Howard Ashman and Alan Menken musical Little Shop of Horrors at the Aspen District Theatre from December 2nd - 11th, followed by an encore presentation of the beloved musical Annie, by Thomas Meehan (book), Charles Strouse (music) and Martin Charnin (lyrics). Annie played to sold-out houses in Aspen this summer, and was the largest musical ever produced by the organization, now in its twenty-eighth year. Annie will run from December 16th - 23rd, at the historic Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen. (more...)

Theatre Aspen's upcoming summer season, reported Artistic Director Paige Price. The award-winning regional theatre unveiled the brand new Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park on June 24th with two musicals and a comedy. The theatre's 28th season of summer repertory features the regional premiere of Becky's New Car, by native Coloradan Steven Dietz, starring Emmy- and Tony-nominee Sandy Duncan. Opening July 7th is the beloved musical Annie, by Thomas Meehan (book), Charles Strouse (music) and Martin Charnin (lyrics), and the new musical Vices: A Love Story, (story by Michael Heitzman & Ilene Reid, and music and lyrics by Susan Draus, Everett Bradley, Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid).
