ProArteDanza celebrates its 15th anniversary season with the Toronto Premiere of The 9th!, the full-length choreographed imagining of Ludwig van Beethoven's epic 9th Symphony, on stage November 6a?'9, 2019 at 8pm at Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance Theatre. Created and co-choreographed by the company's award-winning Artistic Director Roberto Campanella and Artistic Associate Robert Glumbek, this bold and provocative work pays homage to the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, in a fitting tribute to the thrilling physicality of the composer's iconic music.

High Tides is the second album by  Constance Hauman. Her critically acclaimed recording, Falling Into Now, made The Guardian's list of the 10 Best Albums of 2015. High Tides features eight new songs written by Hauman and two covers, Everlong by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Les Chemins de l'Amour by French composer, Francis Poulenc. High Tides was produced by Constance Hauman and Ross Pederson - who was also the recording and mix engineer and performs throughout the album on drums, bass and midi.

Vancouver Opera announces their 2019-2020 season consisting of 4 opera produc­tions and the 4th annual Vancouver Opera Festival, 9 days of opera, special events, speakers, family events, and more from April 23 to May 3, 2020. Opera Fusion is delighted to announce a special one night only performance of Gaetano Donizetti's comic masterpiece Don Pasquale at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center on February 16, 2019 at 7:30 pm. This rambunctious romp, a co-production of Opera Fusion and Gulfshore Opera, is fully staged in two acts and accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Singer/conductor Barbara Hannigan makes her New York conducting debut with the Juilliard Orchestra in works by Strauss, Haydn, Debussy, Sibelius, and Bartok on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 7:30pm in Alice Tully Hall. The program features Strauss' "Salome's Dance" from Salome, Op. 54; Haydn's Symphony No. 96 in D Major, Hob. I:96, ("The Miracle"); Debussy's Syrinx (flute soloist to be announced); Sibelius' Luonnatar, Op. 70, with Juilliard soprano Meghan Kasanders; and Bartok's Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin. Hannigan made her debut as a conductor in 2011 at the Chatelet in Paris with Stravinsky's Renard; the soprano has been dividing her time between singing and conducting ever since.

On January 13, 17 and 19 Franz Welser-Most and The Cleveland Orchestra continue an ongoing commitment to present opera at Severance Hall with a made-for-Cleveland production of Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos which is being performed for the first time in the Orchestra's history. In his years as music director, Welser-Most has led The Cleveland Orchestra in performances of many orchestral works by Richard Strauss, as well as presentations of four other Strauss operas: Elektra (2004), Der Rosenkavalier (2007), Salome (2012), and Daphne (2015).

On October 11, 2018, The Marie-Josée Kravis Prize for New Music at the New York Philharmonic was awarded to South Korean composer Unsuk Chin. The Prize consists of $200,000 and a commission for the New York Philharmonic. Listen to her clarinet concerto in the video below!

The Marie-Josee Kravis Prize for New Music at the New York Philharmonic, which recognizes a composer for extraordinary artistic endeavor in the field of new music, has been awarded to South Korean composer Unsuk Chin. One of the world's largest new-music prizes, the Kravis Prize includes $200,000 and a commission to write a work for the New York Philharmonic. Ms. Chin's new orchestral work will receive its World Premiere by the Philharmonic in a future season. Funding for the Kravis Prize comes from a $10 million gift to the New York Philharmonic in 2009 by Henry R. Kravis in honor of his wife, Marie-Josee, for whom the Prize is named. Past Prize winners include Henri Dutilleux, Per Norgard, and Louis Andriessen.

The Adelphi Orchestra now in its 65th season of Music for All presents From Vienna with Love under the baton of Music Director & Conductor Richard Owen. The Concert features Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin (First Prize winner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition ) in the rarely performed and exquisitely beautiful Korngold Violin Concerto.
