Bergen County Players to Host Sing-Along SOUND OF MUSIC, 6/21-23

The theater will be alive with The Sound of Music when a one-hour concert sing-along adaptation of the classic show is presented by Bergen County Players (BCP) as the final Second Stage production of the 80th season. Running for just three performances, from June 21st through June 23rd, shows will be on Friday and Saturday night at 8pm while the Sunday matinee curtain will be raised at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the Little Firehouse Theatre box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours.

As part of its 80th season celebration, Bergen County Players (BCP) will present Neil Simon's FOOLS, a 'light, frothy, fairy tale for adults featuring Simon's brilliant use of vaudeville, slapstick, puns and wordplay.' Under the direction of Iris Weinhouse, FOOLS will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from October 20th through November 10th at The Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell, NJ. Shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours. Tickets are $20 on Friday and Saturday and $16 on Sunday.

The Montclair Operetta Club, one of the country's oldest continuously-operating community theatres celebrating its 87th season, will present Sweet Charity on April 27, & 28 at 8pm, and April 29 at 2pm at the Bloomfield College Westminster Arts Center, 449 Franklin St. Bloomfield, NJ 07003. The show, under the direction of Bob Cline and musical direction of Gonzalo Valencia, features Allie Foote of Middletown as Charity Hope Valentine, an eternal optimist in search of love.

Nutley Little Theatre's red barn, which is nestled in the heart of Nutley in North NJ, saw the theater company's humble beginnings as a parish-based arts ministry in 1934 and its first regular season plays directed by Robert Winternitz in 1934 to 1935. That same iconic red barn also serves as the performance venue in NLT's current season -- 76 seasons and counting -- that closes with William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's Broadway musical The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee from June 10 to June 25.
