The San Francisco Symphony plays Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, A Bug's Life, WALL-E, Cars, Up, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. and Brave through Sunday July 20 at the building with perfect acoustics, Davies Symphony Hall. Film clips accompany their counterparts, and even the few Pixar films that disappointed find new life and movement when highlighted with their scores. Two hours of Pixar music is pure magic. At the 41st Annual Student Academy Awards ceremony, fifteen young filmmakers from around the world received Academy Awards. According to USA Today, the Oscar-winning directing/producing team from Disney's Frozen (Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck and Peter Del Vecho) were there to hand out awards. Museum of the Moving Image to Open Exhibit on Animation Director Chuck Jones, 7/19

Animation director and artist Charles Martin 'Chuck' Jones (1912-2002) brought to life some of the most iconic cartoon characters in animation history. He perfected the wisecracking Bugs Bunny and the exasperated Daffy Duck and a host of other characters, including Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, and Pepé Le Pew. He brought an unparalleled talent for comic invention and a flair for creating distinctive, memorable characters to the art of film animation. What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones, a new Smithsonian traveling exhibition that explores Jones's creative genius, influences, and legacy, will open at Museum of the Moving Image in New York City on July 19, 2014 and will be on view through January 19, 2015. Clips from all 14 Pixar films released to date - the Toy Story trilogy; A Bug's Life; Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University; Finding Nemo; The Incredibles; Cars and Cars 2; Ratatouille; Wall·E; UP; and Brave - will be screened as the Orchestra performs the music live, led by film composer and conductor David Newman.
