Michael B. Jordan will receive this year's “CinemaCon® Male Star of the Year Award,” Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, announced today. CinemaCon, the official convention of NATO, will be held March 30-April 2 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Jordan will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony taking place on the evening of Thursday, April 2, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon.

The 2019 Ritz Theatre season will open with 'John & Jen' at 7:35 p.m. April 4-6 and at 2 p.m., April 7 at the Ritz Theatre, 111 W. Third St., Sheffield. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. 'John & Jen' is a musical with music by Andrew Lippa, lyrics by Tom Greenwald, and book by Lippa and Greenwald. Lippa went on to write the music and lyrics for the stage musicals 'Wild Party', 'The Addams Family' and 'Big Fish.'

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Broadway debut of 'Love Letters', a Play by A.R. Gurney, Theatre at the Center (TATC) will showcase one exclusive performance on Sunday afternoon, February 3, at 2:30 p.m. This production, under the guidance of artistic advisor Linda Fortunato, will star Phil Potempa, a noted newspaper columnist for the Post Tribune and Crista Zivanovic, features editor of The Times of Northwest Indiana. The performance proceeds will benefit Theatre at the Center in Munster.

In 2007, Across the Universe brought the songs of The Beatles to a new generation in the form of a jukebox musical film that incorporated 34 of the band's songs, from the very famous to the more obscure numbers in their back catalogue. Rather than being a band biography, it brought a new story to the screen from Julie Taymor (also director), Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and starred Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood.
