Jonah Bokaer's CURTAIN Comes to France's Avignon Festival, 7/20; MA's Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, 8/1

Jonah Bokaer, who has been making artistic waves on the international dance circuit since he began choreographing almost ten years ago, will be seen both close-up and afar in these coming months: outdoors at the Avignon Festival in France (July 20-22, 24-26) and indoors at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA (August 1-5) when he and Bolshoi Ballet star David Hallberg perform together in the world premiere of Bokaer's "CURTAIN."

ACME Performs Three Concerts in May; Releases Album in June

ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, has announced its June 2012 album release and continues the third of its New York concerts tonight at 8 pm, May 14. ACME performs Timothy Andres' I Found it by the Sea as part of the 2012 Look & Listen Festival, held at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery (144 W. 14th St., 2nd Floor, NYC).

Trisha Brown Dance Company's ASTRAL CONVERTED to Play Park Avenue Armory

Park Avenue Armory will present Trisha Brown Dance Company's reconstruction of ASTRAL CONVERTED, a groundbreaking work by choreographer Trisha Brown in collaboration with Robert Rauschenberg (visual and costume design) and John Cage (original music) July 10th - 14th, 2012. The piece will be presented in its entirety for the first time in 18 years in Park Avenue Armory's soaring 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall. The culminating work in Brown's Valiant Series, ASTRAL CONVERTED premiered at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. in 1991.

ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, announces three New York concerts in May and an album release in June 2012. At 8 pm both tonight, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 the group will take the stage at The Kitchen (512 W. 19th St., NYC) for two performances of the music of William Brittelle and Mick Barr. At 8 pm on Monday, May 14, ACME performs Timothy Andres' I Found it by the Sea as part of the 2012 Look & Listen Festival, held at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery (144 W. 14th St., 2nd Floor, NYC).

Composer Robert Sirota's solo work Canzona will be performed by guitarist Jordan Dodson during three upcoming concerts in New York - on Sunday, May 27 at 7:30pm at Culturefix (9 Clinton Street, NYC), Friday, June 8 at 8pm at Chambers Fine Art (522 West 19th Street, NYC), and Sunday, June 24 at 3pm at St. John's Church as part of Concerts on the Slope (139 Saint Johns Place, Brooklyn).

MoMA Nights and Summergarden Concerts Highlight Summer 2012

This summer, live music performances return to The Museum of Modern Art's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden with MoMA Nights on Thursdays in July and August and Summergarden concerts on four Sundays in July. In addition, MoMA will extend its hours by opening from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays (June 26 through September 25), a day the Museum is usually closed, and until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays (July 5 through August 30), providing the public with more opportunities to enjoy the Museum's renowned collection and special exhibitions.
