Country Mile Productions has today launched their first ever Country Mile Comedy Festival, a fortnight-long showcase of new material from some of the UK's most exciting live comedians.

Pleasance Islington will reopen its doors on Monday 17th May with a busy programme of comedy, theatre, drag and musicals. To help set theatre up to thrive once again Pleasance will also partner with VAULT Creative Arts to present Fringe Futures Festival.  Taking place across May and June, this brand-new festival will present live work-in-progress shows from leading independent performance makers.

We all know that you should never judge a book by its cover a?' but should you ever judge a person by their name? This is the question posed to us in What's In A Name?, which has landed at Nuffield Southampton Theatres at the end of its first-ever UK tour.

In a world where it is now normal to name your baby Bear, Apple and Denim, it is interesting for a play to explore if a person's name reflect who they really are. In Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière's 2010 comedy Le Prénom, a group of friends is challenged when one couple's decision about what they will name their child causes controversy, arguments and even violence. Translated into English by Jeremy Sams (who also directs), What's in a Name? was a hit play, a film and is now revived for a second time in the UK.

Father-to-be Vincent and his partner Anna are invited to dinner by his sister Elizabeth and her husband, Peter. They are joined by childhood friend Carl for a mature and sophisticated gathering.
