Signature Theatre presents Elmer Gantry, a musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel, directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Schaeffer collaborated on the last production of Elmer Gantry at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in Chicago with authors John Bishop (book), Mel Marvin (music) and Bob Satuloff (lyrics) in 1998; the show has not been produced since then. This will be the 5th production in the show's history. Running in the MAX Theatre October 7 - November 9, Signature's production will include several brand new songs by Mel Marvin and Bob Satuloff and a reimagined script that John Bishop worked on until his death in 2006. Description: Depression era, lower east side, Manhattan. Author Mrs. Chaste is banned by the church because her children's stories depict the supernatural. She befriends Damian, a local devil who attempts to annihilate the corrupt Pastor Beagle, to free Mrs. Chaste from censorship and to return to the living. A musical comedy in one act, this production features Jessica Lauren Copland, Jonathan Mesisca, Ben Boecker, Alexandra Cassens, Martin Everall, Paul Fraccalvieri, Robbin Major and Julie Lauren Stevens.

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) opens 2014 with Miss Nelson is Missing, its third production of its 62nd Professional Season. Based on one of the most memorable books its time by Harry Allard and James Marshall, Miss Nelson is Missing is written by nationally-renowned, local playwright, Joan Cushing, who is the most produced playwright in children's theatre according to TYA Today Magazine. This children's favorite directed byJennifer Nelson (2011's Mirandy and Brother Wind and former Producing Artistic Director of the African Continuum Theatre) and music directed by Helen Hayes Award Recipient and 8-time nominee, George Fulginiti-Shakar, will run January 17- March 9, 2014. Miss Nelson is Missing stars Helen Hayes Award Nominee Jessica Lauren Ball (Olney's Cinderella, Toby's Legally Blonde) as Miss Nelson, the well-natured and long-suffering teacher of the disobedient Room 207, who is suddenly replaced by the petrifying substitute, Miss Viola Swamp. On March 2, 2013, Olney Theatre Center will host the Diamond Gala, a black-tie fundraising event celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Olney Theatre Center. The event will include a cocktail hour, a seated dinner, live musical performances from Olney favorites George Dvorsky (Annie, The Sound of Music), Jessica Lauren Ball (1776, Grease, The Sound of Music, Cinderella), Donna Migliaccio (The Sound of Music, Cinderella), Caitlin Deerin (Annie), Parker Drown (Grease, Cinderella, Spring Awakening), MaryLee Adams (Spring Awakening) and Bobby Smith (Annie, The Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors), as well as silent and live auctions. Funds raised from the event will support Olney's artistic and educational programming which reaches over 100,000 audience members a year in Maryland and nationwide.

Based on the 2001 movie, Legally Blonde follows the story of Elle Woods, a seemingly vacuous sorority girl. After being dumped by her Harvard Law bound boyfriend, Elle is determined to win him back. So, she packs up her Pradas and her pooch and heads to the Ivy League school.
