Today, Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Rockefeller Foundation president Judith Rodin, NYC Department of Education Chancellor Carmen Fariña and Gilder Lehrman executive director Lesley Herrmann announced an educational partnership to provide 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see Hamilton on Broadway and integrate the show into classroom studies. This educational initiative is made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation to Gilder Lehrman.

History is happening in Manhattan! HAMILTON Headed to the West End in 2017; Producers on the Hunt for London Venue

The rumors were true! As previously reported, Sir Cameron Mackintosh (producer of OLIVER!, LES MISERABLES, PHANTOM, MARY POPPINS, MISS SAIGON and CATS) plans to bring Broadway's box-office blockbuster HAMILTON to the West End in 2017. The Daily Mail now writes that Mackintosh is touring West End venues with producers Jeffrey Seller and Oskar Eustis next month, including WAR HORSE's current home at the New London through March 12, 2016.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's new musical Hamilton began previews at theRichard Rodgers Theatre last night prior to an official opening night on August 6th. As was announced last week, $10 front row seats for the new musical will go on sale by lottery, beginning two and half hours prior to each performance. Patrons may enter their name at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 W. 46 St.) for a chance to buy up to two front row tickets for $10 each. The winner's names will be drawn 2 hours before show time. Entrants must present photo ID, and the winners must pay with cash at the box office. Crowds flocked yesterday for a chance to win tickets to the first preview. T. Fellowship, in association with Columbia University School of the Arts, announces Jen Hoguet as the fourth fellow in the one-year program designed to educate and empower new creative producers. The fellow will receive a stipend of $10,000 with a $20,000 budget for the development of a new theatrical production.
