THE LAST SHIP Box Office to Open Next Monday at the Neil Simon Theatre

Producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker announce that the box office for the new musical THE LAST SHIP will open on Monday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street), in conjunction with a special one-time-only 24-hour flash sale from midnight August 25 to midnight August 26. For one day only, seats will be on sale for $39, $59 and $85 in the rear mezzanine, mid-mezzanine or orchestra/front mezzanine, respectively.

The long-running Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q celebrates its 11th anniversary in New York tonight, July 31 at 8 p.m. with a special interactive social media performance - THE INTERNET IS FOR Q! - at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.), at which all audience members will be invited to post their experiences during the show on their mobile phones via Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Members of the creative team and former cast members are expected to attend - and tweet - the performance, as well, and the evening's events will include surprise twists live from the stage.

The Public will soon present the world premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda's new play Hamilton from Jan 20 to Feb 22, 2015. It is based on the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow. Miranda will play Hamilton himself. According to an Equity casting notice, auditions are currently underway to fill several key roles, including Aaron Burr, George Washington and more. The character descriptions paint exciting pictures of Miranda's characters, including: Aaron Burr ('Javert meets Mos Def'), George Washington ('John Legend meets Mufasa'), Hercules Mulligan/James Madison ('RZA meets Zach from Chorus Line'), King George ('Wainwright meets King Herod in JCS'), and Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds (Jasmine Sullivan meets Carla from Nine).

The Pre-Broadway World Premiere of The Last Ship, the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award winner Sting, and book by Tony winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winnerBrian Yorkey, opened June 25 at the Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe) and plays through July 13, 2014. The Last Ship is directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello and has choreography by Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee Steven Hoggett. Pre-Broadway Premiere of Sting's THE LAST SHIP Announces Rush Policy in Chicago

The producers of the Pre-Broadway World Premiere of THE LAST SHIP will offer special rush tickets for all performances. Ten pairs, 20 tickets, will be available to patrons, on the day-of-show, for $25. These rush tickets will be available at the box office only, on the day of the performance, when the box office opens at 10:00 a.m. except for Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Directed by his In The Heights collaborator Thomas Kail, this new musical features Miranda playing Alexander Hamilton, one of our country's Founding Fathers and the first Secretary of the Treasury. Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents an evening with 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting on behalf of his forthcoming musical, The Last Ship, on February 24, 2014 at 7:30pm. For one night only, this benefit event features Sting in conversation with musician, BAFTA nominee and The Last Ship cast member, Jimmy Nail. The pair will also perform songs from the new musical, joined by Emmy Award-nominee Rob Mathes on piano. Funds raised at the event support Steppenwolf's Artistic Development Fund, a special fund created by the theater to provide enhanced resources for large scale productions initiated by our artists and to mount new plays. Ms. Barnhart will perform the roles she helped create over 10 years ago: as a Bad Idea Bear, kindergarten school principal Mrs. T, as well as her trademark 'second-hand' work with puppets Nicky and Trekkie Monster.
