Rebecca Luker recently gave a preview concert for the upcoming 'Got Rhythm: The Gershwin Brothers' show at Feinstein's/54 Below.

The Classic American Songbook Series continues at Feinstein's/54 Below on Sunday, March 24at 7 PM and 9:30PM with GOT RHYTHM: THE GERSHWIN BROTHERS, featuring Klea Blackhurst, George Dvorsky, Nicolas King and Rebecca Luker. Written and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, GOT RHYTHM will feature arrangements by Musical director John Oddo and stage direction by Mark Waldrop, with Oddo on piano, James Saporito on drums and Jay Leonhart on bass.

On Sunday, March 31st, Encompass New Opera Theatre (Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director), The Board of Trustees and The Encompass Honorary Gala Chairs, Sheldon Harnick and Maury Yeston will pay tribute to Tony Award-winning luminaries, LAURA BENANTI AND BARTLETT SHER, with a star-studded musical salute.

Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with Benny Green, The James Carter Organ Trio, Joao Bosco, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Frank Catalano Quartet, Clint Holmes, Joe Alterman, Aubrey Logan, Sheila Jordan, Dena DeRose, The Jive Aces, Michael Wolff, Jason Kravits, Jim Caruso's Cast Party, and more!

Schimmel Center at Pace University concludes its 2018-19 Cabaret Series with an evening of standards and musical theater selections composed by women titled Baby, Dream Your Dream: The Great Women Songwriters today, March 9, 2019 at 7:30pm. For almost a half century, the Jack Kleinsinger-produced events have brought together a multitude of beloved jazz musicians spanning an eclectic mix of generations and styles. The 2019 season is no exception, with four stellar concerts featuring some of the brightest luminaries in jazz today.

LIVE FROM MERKIN HALL it's IN YOUR FACE - NEW YORK, hosted MSNBC'S THE BEAT ARI MELBER, who effortlessly explains politics, the law--and hip-hop--like nobody else on TV.  Joining him will be Zucked author Roger McNamee, curator at MoMA Ann Temkin and the always melodic Jay Leonhart and his 1-Train Band. Deborah Grace Winer was certainly on the right track last night as she hosted her latest creative musical adventure 'New York: Big City Songbook' at the new Birdland Theater. Deborah is well known to New Yorkers for the imaginative and quality presentations she produced for the Lyrics & Lyricists Series at the 92Y, which she led for 9 seasons. It's difficult to construct a show for New Yorkers about New York, we've seen it all…haven't we? but this smart show with vocalists Klea Blackhurst, La Tanya Hall and Nicolas King (real New Yorkers because as Deborah pointed out they come from everywhere) offered a kaleidoscopic vision of life in the city.

In four stellar concerts featuring some of the brightest luminaries in jazz today, 2019's Highlights In Jazz series brings together a multitude of beloved jazz musicians spanning an eclectic mix of generations and styles. You'll hear unforgettable performances from jazz veterans including Warren Vaché, Houston Person, and Norman Simmons; up-and-comers like Veronica Swift, Christian Sands, and Peter and Will Anderson; and straight-ahead stalwarts such as Steve Turre, George Cables, Buster Williams, along with many more. These gifted players and others will pay tribute to a pantheon of jazz legends, including this year's featured honoree, trumpeter Randy Brecker; plus, the music of Randy Weston, Erroll Garner, Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong will also be featured.

Why have so many songwriters been compelled to write about New York? What is it about this city that fuels an endless supply of stories? Deborah Grace Winer's new show NEW YORK: BIG CITY SONGBOOK offers a kaleidoscopic vision of life in the city, from the inspiring and romantic to the aggravating and the quirky. New York is a fabulous character, and Deborah has assembled a great cast of real New Yorkers (meaning they come from everywhere) to take us on this entertaining and exhilarating musical ride in search of what it really means to be a New Yorker.
