Broadway's THE HEIDI CHRONICLES Offering One-Year Membership to MoMA with Ticket Purchase

In keeping with the spirit of art historian Heidi Holland and her adventurous journey through the remarkable decades of 60s, 70s, and 80s art and culture, producers have announced that the first Broadway revival of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Wendy Wasserstein play The Heidi Chronicles will offer a free one-year membership to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) with the purchase of two full price orchestra or front mezzanine tickets to any performance of The Heidi Chronicles through April 16. Tickets must be purchased on or before February 22. Those who are already MoMA members will receive a one-year extension on their membership.

Benjamin Scheuer's Solo Show THE LION Opens Off-Broadway Tonight

The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, opens tonight, February 8th, at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre.

There are some singers that like to conserve their voices. Johnny Mathis was one of them. He would edit his social conversations to incorporate just the smallest amount of words needed to have an exchange with someone. In fact he rarely answered the phone. I don't know if that's the reason his voice is still great, but I do know that talking a lot has not impaired the vocal chords of Marilyn Maye.

Continuing its 30th anniversary season, Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) presents the latest Ives and Rando collaboration with producing partners Jamie deRoy and Barry Feirstein. The limited engagement runs through March 27, 2015. Opening night is Tuesday, February 24 at 7PM.

The 2014 BWW New York Cabaret Awards will celebrate the best cabaret performers and shows of last year as voted on by 7,500 fans in December after a one-month preliminary ballot process. Produced, directed, and hosted for the third straight year by BWW Cabaret Editor Stephen Hanks, the BWW Awards show will feature performances by many of the winners, many of whom are among the cream of the crop in the art of cabaret. Joining a star-studded cast (see below) will be two-time 2014 BWW Cabaret Award nominee and Broadway Musical star Len Cariou, who will perform a special tribute to the late songwriter Ervin Drake.

Two-Time Olivier Nominee to Join A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER on Broadway

It was announced today that two-time Olivier Award nominee Scarlett Strallen will take over the role of 'Sibella' in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical, beginning Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Her predecessor Lisa O'Hare exits the production on February 8, 2015 after originating the role at Hartford Stage, then in San Diego at The Old Globe, and finally on Broadway at The Walter Kerr Theatre.

Bill Boggs, who has interviewed many of the most notable personalities of our time, had to sit at the other end of the table and be interviewed by Peter LeDonne, whose 970 AM radio program is recorded at Patsy's Italian Restaurant. Boggs, a four time Emmy Award winning TV Host has interviewed cultural icons, presidents, international leaders, business tycoons, writers, athletes,movie stars and celebrity chefs. However, out of those thousands of interviews the interviewee Boggs would probably rate as one of the most interesting. Bill who is also an author an a much in demand speaker, had many tales to share with the radio audience during this lunch time interview, which could well have lasted until dinner time at Patsy's.

BroadwayWorld has called Ann Hampton Callaway the current “Queen of Cabaret” and apparently much of the cabaret audience agrees. The votes for the 2014 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards are official and Callaway is the “Performer of the Year,” having garnered 2,194 votes (the most of any nominee) out of the 66,179 votes cast by approximately 7,500 voters for 148 nominees in 17 categories. With the official results of the voting for the 2014 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards to be revealed later this week, BWW and New York Cabaret Editor Stephen Hanks have announced this year's special “Editor's Awards” for special achievement in categories that were not subject to online voting. The winners will receive their Awards and most will perform at the 3rd Annual BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards show on February 23 (6:30 pm) at Joe's Pub.
