A.R.T. Announces Bedlam's SENSE & SENSIBILITY Casting

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, is pleased to present Bedlam's Sense & Sensibility. Written by Kate Hamill based on the novel by Jane Austen and directed by Eric Tucker, performances of the production recognized by The New York Times as having an audaciously high energy level will begin on Sunday, December 10, 2017, and continue through Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, in Cambridge.

Artists Repertory Theatre presents Caught, a show centered around Chinese dissident artist Lin Bo that combines visual art and live theatre installations. Caught is presented in partnership with The Ch j Gallery/SF and The Geezer Gallery, and features dozens of collaborators including playwright Christopher Chen. The production runs October 1 through October 29, 2017 on Artists Rep's newly configured Morrison Stage.

Tuesday, August 8, 2017) Tickets are now on sale for the first production of WP Theater's 40th Anniversary Season, the world premiere of One Night Only (running as long as we can) by Monica Bill Barnes & Company (The Museum Workout; Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host with Ira Glass), produced in association with New Neighborhood. The show begins performances at WP Theater (2162 Broadway) on Saturday, September 9 with opening night set for Tuesday, September 19.

The Ailey Spirit Gala broke records last night as the centerpiece of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2017 Lincoln Center engagement, led by Artistic Director Robert Battle. With a record-breaking $1.4 million raised, the one-night-only benefit performance and party featured Honorary Chair Andre Holland, critically-acclaimed actor of the 2017 Oscar Best Picture Moonlight. The evening honored Ailey Board Vice Chairman Stephen Meringoff for his longtime support of Ailey, and his instrumental role in strengthening and sustaining AileyCamp. Gala Co-Chairs were Lynne & Anthony M. Carvette, Almaz & Marc S. Strachan, and Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach; and Vice Chairs were Michele & Timothy Barakett, Dr. N. Anthony & Robyn Coles, Jaishri & Vikas Kapoor, Ricki Lander, Leslie & Tom Maheras, and Pamela D. Zilly & John H. Schaefer. The funds raised support Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School.

Kentucky Center Venues Rank in Worldwide Top 200 Listing

The Kentucky Center's Whitney Hall and Brown Theatre have both been recognized among the top 200 theatre venues in the world, based on ticket sales. Whitney Hall ranked 33rd and the Brown Theatre ranked 149th. The report was issued by Pollstar, considered to be the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (the LBC) announced the addition of five new shows and events to its 2017 lineup. On Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2 p.m., In the Mood, a fully staged tribute to Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Sinatra and the big band greats of the '40s, returns to the LBC with 19 performers on stage, including six singer-dancers. The Grammy-winning duo Indigo Girls bring their signature sonic blend of folk and rock to Santa Rosa on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 8 p.m. for an outstanding program of fan favorites from across their groundbreaking career.
