4th Wall Theatre Company is presenting the virtual Houston premiere of Nassim Soleimanpour’s international theatre phenomenon WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT. The play begins when an actor receives the script in a sealed envelope for the first time live on Zoom.

Radical Awakenings: Recognizing Racism and White Privilege is a new experimental theater workshop by local actor Candice D'Meza designed as a brave space to practice anti-racism.

Intergalactic stars Drab Majesty have announced a batch of live demonstrations across the globe in celebration of their forthcoming album Modern Mirror.  Their North American run is slotted to run from July 24th through August 30th with Body of Light and Xeno & Oaklander supporting select dates, and their European tour is September 18th through November 2nd featuring SRSQ and Body of Light on various legs — check out all tour dates listed below. 

Mattiel Brown is a softly-spoken, chilled-out design nerd turned rock & roll belter, performing bold, vintage soul as Mattiel (pronounced 'maa-TEEL'). Brown grew up on a five-acre farm in rural Brooks, Georgia, the only child of a Detroit native. As an adolescent, Brown delighted in the '60s folk and pop of her mother's limited vinyl collection: Donovan, Peter Paul and Mary, and Joan Baez. As an adult, relocated in neighbouring Atlanta, she'd sing along to the radio on the long drives to work: Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Andre 3000, Dylan, Marc Bolan, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and Jack White. (Mattiel were invited to open for Mr White on a string of arena shows last year, shortly before making an impressive TV debut on the BBC's Later...With Jools Holland). With new material forthcoming on esteemed indie ATO Records, Mattiel are destined to be Atlanta's best kept secret no longer.

Rising electronic producer/recording artist Melvv has teamed up with L.A.-based pop duo, More Giraffes for the sizzling new collab, “Heatwave.” Featuring Melvv's signature bouncy production and the dreamy vocals of More Giraffes, “Heatwave” is accompanied by an equally stunning companion visual directed by Melvv himself. “Heatwave” is available everywhere now via Atlantic Records.

On Wednesday, July 19th, the City of Houston became the epicenter of the entertainment world as it played host to an exclusive screening premiere event for HBO's hit shows Ballers and Insecure at White Oak Music Hall, one of Houston's most buzzed about new venues. Talent from each show, London Brown (Reggie) and Jazmyn Simon (Julie Greane) from Ballers, and Amanda Seales (Tiffany) and Natasha Rothwell (Kelli) from Insecure, attended the premiere and conducted interviews with local media outlets in advance of the screenings of the first episodes of each show's new season.

During three months of rehearsals, the students who had just met rehearsed a musical about acceptance while national headlines told of racism.

Tony Award winner and Broadway Legend LILLIAS WHITE will lead Straight From New York's upcoming Musical Theatre Masterclasses in Houston on December 18th and Dallas on December 20th.

The reading will star Karen Mason -- Drama Desk-nominated Broadway star of Wonderland, Mamma Mia and Sunset Boulevard, as well as a prolific concert and recording artist -- and be directed by Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones, Tony Award nominee for Xanadu choreography). The show has music by Rhonda Kess, and lyrics by Rhonda Kess and Dale Kiken and a book by Dale Kiken. The reading will take place on Wednesday, July 9 at 3:00 PM and Thursday, July 10 at 2:00 PM at The New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street). Houston Chamber Choir announces its annual gala "A Bohemian Rhapsody" on Sunday, April 14 at 5:30 pm at the Czech Center Museum Houston (4920 San Jacinto Street, Houston, TX 77004). The celebration honors Dr. David Ashley White, Director of the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, for his dedication and commitment to the Houston Chamber Choir.
