THE CRYSTAL METHOD Announces 2019 Tour Dates

Grammy-nominated electronic music artist THE CRYSTAL METHOD--who is now Scott Kirkland (founding member Ken Jordan went into retirement)-is heading back out on the road in 2019 to support his latest studio album THE TRIP HOME.   Starting mid-February through June, Kirkland will embark on a major DJ tour hitting over 30 tertiary markets in North America.  TCM has also been confirmed to appear at BottleRock Festivalthis spring. The full range of dates follow below.

Nicolas Cage to Star in COLOR OUT OF SPACE

SpectreVision, the boutique genre division of Company X, and ACE Pictures announced today that principal photography will begin next month on COLOR OUT OF SPACE. Starring Nicolas Cage, the film will be directed by Richard Stanley -- his first feature in over twenty years.  Based on the novella by H.P. Lovecraft, COLOR OUT OF SPACE will reunite Cage with SpectreVision, the company behind the critically acclaimed and commercially successful 2018 film MANDY. The film will also star Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck, RED SPARROW), Tommy Chong (UP IN SMOKE), Elliot Knight (DC's Titans), Julian Hilliard (The Haunting of Hill House) and Q'Orianka Kilcher (The Alienist, DORA THE EXPLORER).

Emmy®Award-winning actress Melissa McCarthy will receive this year's Distinguished Artisan Award at the 6th Annual  Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) celebrating her prolific acting career and the plethora of characters she embraces. McCarthy is the first female artist to receive this award. The black-tie awards gala, honoring both make-up artists and hair stylists outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater, returns to the NOVO in L.A. Live on Saturday, February 16, 2019.  The announcement was made today by Sue Cabral-Ebert, President of IATSE Local 706. 

Guillermo Del Toro to Produce Fox Searchlight Remake of TERRIFIED

 Sacha Gervasi is set to write Terrified, Fox Searchlight's remake 2017 Argentinian genre film Aterrado, according to Deadline. The original was written and directed by Demián Rugna and he will helm the English language remake.

 JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & Asia) have partnered to showcase Short Shorts Film Festival in Hollywood on January 17, 2019. The free one-day film festival will bring together premier film talent from Japan, including Cannes Film Festival judge Naomi Kawase and actor and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) member Tetsuya Bessho, at the historic TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. The two-part program aims to bring a sense of intrigue and cultural discovery to festival attendees through the art of short contemporary visual storytelling.
