Giuseppe Verdi's epic opera is being staged for the first time in two decades at WNO and features a sterling cast in a grand production.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 60th season with the Italian classic Rigoletto, with music by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. Performances are March 3, 7, 9 and 11 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The production will be sung in Italian with English titles. The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts, will begin its 13th season on October 6, with the Met's grand production of Verdi's Aida, starring one of the world's most acclaimed sopranos, Anna Netrebko.

Verdi's grand opera Les Vepres siciliennes will be conducted by Omer Meir Wellber, who, following Mefistofele (2015) and Andrea Chenier (2017), will now command his third Staatsoper premiere. Antu Romero Nunes, who audiences will already know from his interpretation of Rossini's Guillaume Tell (2014, Munich Opera Festival), returns to Munich for this premiere.

New Hampshire (February 12, 2018) London's Royal Opera House production of Verdi's opera masterpiece, Rigoletto will be shown in HD at the River Street Theatre (RST) in Jaffrey Sunday, February 18 and Wednesday, February 21, both at 2pm  This presentation is part of the RST's Stage2Screen Series.

Los Angeles composers feature prominently in the Los Angeles Master Chorale's 55th concert season announced today by Grant Gershon, Kiki and David Gindler Artistic Director, and Jean Davidson, President and CEO. The contemporary works include the world premiere of Eric Whitacre's The Sacred Veil and the West Coast premiere of Reena Esmail's This Love Between Us: Prayers for Unity. All concerts will be performed in Walt Disney Concert Hall where the Master Chorale is choir-in-residence.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Xian Zhang present Mozart's Requiem, March 15-18 in Newark, Princeton and Morristown. A trio of vocal pieces, including a pair of a cappella works performed by the Montclair State University Singers, open the program.

Palm Beach Opera today announced its 2018-2019 mainstage opera season, which will include performances of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, as well as a new concert, Rising Stars of Opera. Sarasota Opera will celebrate its 60th anniversary season in 2018/2019 as it announced today at a press conference held on the main stage of the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, FL. The event was overseen by Maestro Victor DeRenzi, artistic director and principal conductor, and Richard Russell, Executive Director. Performances were offered by soprano Kara Shay Thomson who sang "In questa reggia" from Puccini's Turandot and bass Young Bok Kim who sang "La calunnia" from Rossini's The Barber of Seville. In addition, the audience participated in a community sing of the famous chorus "Va, pensiero" from Verdi's Nabucco.

After seeing Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida at The Noel S. Ruiz Theater at CM Performing Arts Center in Oakdale, NY, I can officially say that this theater and production is the closest Long Island will ever get to Broadway! Aida was truly unbelievable and will go down as one of the best theater experiences I've ever had with Long Island theater.
