A beloved holiday tradition will return to People’s Light with the world premiere of Alice in Wonderland: A Musical Panto. Alice in Wonderland: A Musical Panto runs November 16 through January 1 on the Leonard C. Haas Stage.

The Public Theater will begin performances for the New York premiere of WHERE WE BELONG, written and performed by Madeline Sayet and directed by Mei Ann Teo, with a Joseph Papp Free Performance on Friday, October 28.

Palm Beach Dramaworks will ring in 2023 with one of its most popular events, the New Year/New Plays Festival, which runs from January 6-8 and features readings of five fascinating plays that are still in development.

Something wicked this way comes. Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will present a unique take on William Shakespeare's Macbeth: the sinister tale will be told in its entirety through the eyes of the play's three powerful witches, directed by Rosa Joshi, from October 16 through November 6, according to Nancy L. Philadelphia Artists’ Collective (PAC) will launch their 12th season with a production of Wine in the Wilderness by Alice Childress, performed at Poth Brewery. Presented in collaboration with TheBlackBestFriend as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, the show will run for a limited engagement from September 22 through October 9, 2022. 

Studio Theatre has announced the cast of the upcoming Will Arbery production, Heroes of the Fourth Turning. The play, which The New York Times called “Astonishing and riveting,” is a semi-surrealistic portrait of young people on the political right at a pivotal moment in America and in their lives.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan, the first production of Paper Mill’s 2022-2023 season. The production will feature Linedy Genao (On Your Feet! on Broadway) as Gloria, and Brandon Espinoza (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants) as Emilio.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, opens its 2022–2023 season with The Garbologists, written by Lindsay Joelle, directed by Cody Estle, featuring Tiffany Renee Johnson and Luigi Sottile.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre and The 5th Avenue Theatre announced complete cast and creative team for their 10th co-production together, the tender yet invigorating coming-of-age play with music, Choir Boy.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the first Broadway revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Joining the cast are Nadia Daniel and Jurnee Elizabeth Swan. Rounding out the company are Shirine Babb, Charles Browning, Peter Jay Fernandez, Sharina Martin, Warner Miller, Doron JePaul Mitchell and Kim Sullivan.

August Wilson's groundbreaking Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award- winning drama Fences opens at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, the professional theatre on the campus of DeSales University. The show previews July 27 and 28, opens on July 29 and runs through August 7 on the Main Stage at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts.
