SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Trimble (TRMB) announced today that it has added advanced line acquisition technology to its Autopilot automated steering systemTrimble OnSwath technology. It reduces the time lost turning at the end of the row by enabling the vehicle to make a tighter turn and approach the next line, or crop row, 50 percent faster. Using OnSwath, the farmer can decrease idle driving time, fuel consumption, soil compaction, crop damage, and working time in the fieldwhich can lead to cost savings. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit NYC food services agency City Harvest, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Obie Award-winner Israel Horovitz's St Anne's Soup which will be directed by Planet Connections Festivity founder and Co-Artistic Director Glory Kadigan (Neil LaBute world premieres Over the River at The Signature, Two Minute Warning), Wendy MacLeod's Community Service which will be directed by Lucille Lortel nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God), Snap! by Winter Miller which will be directed by Jessi D. The full lineup has been announced for the 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre festival running from May 12-June 8 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street) upstairs & downstairs theaters. With 40 full productions, over 10 free staged readings, music & film festivals and more, one thing that makes Planet Connections unique is that each show partners with a charity and some of the ways they offer support are soliciting donations at shows, holding special benefit performances, fundraisers and/or talkbacks after performances with charity representatives. When they were still aspiring young artists Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar, TV star Josh Radnor, and two-time Tony Award-nominated actress Melissa Erico each spent a transformative summer in the Powerhouse Theater Training Program. Now in its thirtieth year, the renowned annual program at Vassar College will run from June 20-July 27, 2014 and is currently accepting applications. Participants choose a curriculum focused on acting, playwriting, or directing, and together form an Apprentice Company that performs works for the public. The program is available to rising high school seniors through college-age students, as part of the prestigious Powerhouse Theater collaboration between Vassar and New York Stage and Film. (more...)
