The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) ended 2019 on a festively Lloyd Webber note with its first musical theatre production, ENCORE!. Supported by well-known names in local theatre and touring productions, ENCORE! showed off the triple threat stylings of their 20-plus students by taking the audience on a trip down musical memory lane.

'Public Figure' is a documentary that investigates the lives of influencers from around the world as well as the psychological and addictive effects of social media in society. Produced and directed by New York documentary filmmaker Brian Corso, 'Public Figure' features social media influencers and public figures around the world, by looking into their everyday lives and how they deal with fame, money, hate and obsession. 'Public Figure' will premiere at the much-touted Manchester United Kingdom Film Festival on Thursday, March 9, 2019.

La MaMa Presents EXTREME WHETHER, A Cli-Fi Play By Karen Malpede

From March 1 to 18, La MaMa will present Theater Three Collaborative in a new production of 'Extreme Whether,' a 'Cli-Fi' play written and directed by Karen Malpede. The piece juxtaposes psychological and magical realism in a tale of a courageous climate researcher who is defamed by special interests, including his own family. Obie-winner Rocco Sisto heads a cast of six.
