The Rubin Museum of Art will present pianists Misha and Cipa Dichter in recital on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 4:00 pm as part of WQXR's Sunday evening classical music series, Resonating Light.

For the first time in its history of visiting the United States, the Royal Shakespeare Company will perform five of Shakespeare's plays in repertory, for a total of 45 performances this summer. The company is presented by Lincoln Center Festival, and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University.

Manhattan Theatre Club brings its popular discussion and performance series to the intimate venue of The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR with After Words: Master Class on Wednesday, June 22 starting at 4:30 pm.

In anticipation of the upcoming Lincoln Center Festival, Lincoln Center is planning its first Festival Day, a full day of one-day-only ticket offers, information, great food, and free talks and events in the David Rubenstein Atrium, culminating in the first public screening of the new DVD of Bruckner's Eighth Symphony, performed by The Cleveland Orchestra led by Franz Welser-Most at 7 p.m., projected onto the Atrium's 42 foot-wide media wall.

As previously announced, Lincoln Center Festival 2011, which runs from July 5-August 14, will offer 116 performances by ensembles and artists from some 20 countries, and will include 6 World, North American, U.S., and New York premieres unfolding in seven venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus.

Brian Bedford, star and director of Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Oscar Wilde's comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, will be featured on WQXR Radio (105.9 FM) at 11AM on Saturday, April 30th hosted by Elliott Forrest.

Hungarian Echoes: A Philharmonic Festival conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, will take place March 10-26, 2011. Program III, which will be performed Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, 2011, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m., will feature Bartok's opera, Bluebeard's Castle, starring mezzo-soprano Michelle De Young, bass Gabor Bretz - making his New York Philharmonic debut - and actress Marthe Keller, who will recite the Bard's Poem at the beginning of the work. The program opens with Ligeti's Concert Romanesc and Haydn's Symphony No. 7, Le Midi.

Andrey Boreyko will lead the New York Philharmonic in Haydn's Symphony No. 60, Il distratto; Glazunov's Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Schulhoff's Hot-Sonate for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra, performed by Branford Marsalis in his Philharmonic subscription debut; and R. Strauss's Le Bourgeois gentilhomme, Wednesday and Thursday, February 16-17, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 18, at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, February 19, at 8:00 p.m.

After three years, Alec Baldwin returns to Rockland County, rejoining Elliott Forrest in a lively evening of conversation. They will discuss Mr. Baldwin's life and award winning career. Nyack High School students will participate in a special Q&A about the craft of acting and a life in show business.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in the New York Premiere of Thomas Adès's multimedia In Seven Days (Concerto for Piano with Moving Image), Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 7, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 8, at 8:00 p.m. The score, which the composer will perform at the piano in his Philharmonic debut, is synchronized with Israeli artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner's kaleidoscopic imagery, projected onto six large screens. Mr. Adès calls it a 'video-ballet in seven movements' that follows the story of creation. The program will also include Mozart's Symphony No. 40, and Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, with baritone Thomas Hampson.
