Tonight, December 5 at 8:00 p.m., TheatreWorks New Milford will proudly present the hilarious Holiday whodunit, THE GAME'S AFOOT OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS by Ken Ludwig. The show opens for a five-week run.

The Sokolow Theater/Dance Ensemble will present three works by Anna Sokolow (1910-2000), international pioneer of American Modern Dance, December 3-7 at the Theater of the 14th Street Y.

NEVERMORE - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe,a unique theatrical experience combining haunting music, poetic storytelling, and stunning stagecraft to tell the fascinating and moving life story of iconic American writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), will begin performances at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, with an official opening night scheduled for Sunday, January 25, 2015.

The Washington, DC metro area is full of small risk taking theaters and one of the standouts in this crowd is Molotov Theatre Group. Self-proclaimed as "America's Second Oldest Theatre of Grand Guignol" this little in size, but big in execution theatre is probably the best in the Theatre of Grand Guignol niche.

If you're from Baltimore, you probably know there's no shortage of shows about the city's unofficial mascot, Edgar Allan Poe, often by impersonators who speak in the poet's voice. You may have seen one or more of them. I think I am personally acquainted with three actors who pay tribute to Baltimore's Bard.

The Chicago Mammals will be presenting the All Girls Project presenting 'All Girl Edgar Allan Poe from today, October 17th through November 3rd.

Berkshire Theatre Group presents the world premiere of POE by Eric Hill at the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, imagining the last days of the writer before his untimely death in Baltimore in 1849. In the title role, David Adkins breathes life into the man, but the play needs life support. Kate Maguire mesmerizes with her recitation of 'The Tell-Tale Heart,' showing that Poe's own words can best provide the necessary drama.

Award-winning theatre company Mildred's Umbrella is producing RED DEATH, an absurd black comedy inspired by Raymond Chandler, Franz Kafka, Kurt Vonnegut, and Edgar Allan Poe. As if that isn't enough, the cast and crew read like a who's who of Houston theatre. With all this talent, this production is bound to be good. Expect deft direction from Jennifer Decker, quality acting from Bree Bridger, Karen Schlag, and Christie Guidry Stryk, exquisite costume and set design from Jodi Bobrovsky, and a sexy, thrilling, and smart play written by Houston favorite Lisa D'Amour. And that's just who I could remember off the top of my head.

The Fall season at the Grolier Club opens with the public exhibition Evermore: The Persistence of Poe devoted to one of the most influential authors of the nineteenth century and the chilling master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe. On view through November 22, 2014, Evermore showcases an extraordinary array of approximately 200 printed materials and objects drawn from Grolier member Susan Jaffe Tane's personal holdings, widely recognized as the finest Poe collection in private hands.

Warp Graphics has announced a world premiere industry reading of MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH: A MUSICAL THRILLER with book and lyrics by Wendy Pini, music and additional lyrics by Gregory Nabours, and directed by Calvin Remsberg, on Monday, October 27 at 7:30pm at the NoHo Arts Center in North Hollywood, CA.
