Rogue Machine brings Frank Capra’s iconic holiday film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” to the stage in this hilarious and heartwarming one-person show starring Leo Marks. Part fan frenzy and part tour-de-force, it’s a celebration of cinematic storytelling and the differences, big and small, that one person can make in the lives of others. 

The award-winning Sierra Madre Playhouse returns to live performances this summer, with a season of four show that have just been announced.

By popular demand, Sierra Madre Playhouse will again present online the recent selection from its Virtual Off the Page series of staged readings, Yellow Face by David Henry Hwang.

You will be to access it online via YouTube beginning at Noon on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Viewing time will continue throughout the day until 11:59 p.m. The event is 120 minutes in duration with a ten-minute intermission. In 2015, Oregon Shakespeare Festival launched an ambitious 39-play, three-year commissioning project, Play on!, tasking 36 playwrights-more than half of whom were women and playwrights of color, each paired with a dramaturg-to translate Shakespeare's canon in celebration of the enduring impact of the Bard's work. Supported by a generous grant from the Hitz Foundation and inspired by long-time patron Dave Hitz's passion for Shakespeare, the project was and continues to be led by Lue Morgan Douthit. Adapted by Harry Gibson and directed by King's Head Theatre Artistic Director Adam Spreadbury-Maher, in collaboration with Greg Esplin, Trainspotting Live is now in performances in a brand new immersive performance space at Roy Arias Stages (777 8th Avenue). The lab will launch on Thursday, July 6 and will culminate with closed presentations today, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 (presentations by private invitation only).
