Children's Musical Theater San Jose (CMT San Jose), a nationally acclaimed theater company honored 10 times by the NEA, and the oldest performing arts organization in San Jose will begin 2016 with a major leadership transition. CMT Board Chair Joy Osborne announced that Dana Zell, current CMT Director of Strategy would become the new Managing Director, taking over from Michael Miller, who has held that position since 2011. Miller will remain involved with CMT as the company looks ahead to a 50th anniversary in 2018.

Disney Theatrical Productions and Stage Entertainment celebrated the European premiere of Disney's hit Broadway musical Aladdin last night at the Stage Theatre Neue Flora in Hamburg, Germany. Alton Fitzgerald White, who has played the role of 'Mufasa' in Broadway's The Lion King more than 4,000 times, guest stars as Lawrence in tonight's episode of CBS's CODE BLACK titled 'The Son Rises'.

THE LION KING will be featured on the hit CBS drama, CODE BLACK, starring Marcia Gay Harden, in tonight's (Nov. 25, 10:00 - 11:00 PM, ET/PT) episode on the CBS Television Network. The episode features Alton Fitzgerald White, who played a record-breaking 4,000 performances as 'Mufasa' in The Lion King, as well as eight members of The Lion King North American Tour. Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that Dean John-Wilson will play the role of Aladdin alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine in the West End premiere of the new musical based on the classic Academy Award-winning animated film. BroadwayWorld previously reported that the duo were in negotiations for the show, but the official word came today.
