Rehearsal images have been released for the National Theatre’s highly acclaimed West End transfer of Dear England. This new smash hit play by James Graham, directed by Rupert Goold, tells the story of the England men’s football team under Gareth Southgate. The National Theatre has announced full casting for its highly acclaimed production of Dear England, transferring to the West End this Autumn. This new smash-hit play by James Graham, directed by Rupert Goold, tells the story of the England men’s football team under Gareth Southgate. It will play at the Prince Edward Theatre from 9 October 2023 for a strictly limited 14-week run.

The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield and the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich have today announced that following overwhelming critical and public acclaim their digital co-production of Henry Filloux-Bennett's reimagining of Jonathan Coe's critically acclaimed satirical novel, What a Carve Up!, has been extended until 2 December.

The time is now for The Scottish Play; over the past couple of years there has been a glut of Macbeths, no doubt inspired by the extraordinary ongoing political events. This time it's Chichester's turn, with director Paul Miller reuniting with John Simm for a second Shakespeare (the pair teamed up for Hamlet in 2010), and Dervla Kirwan taking on the role of Lady Macbeth in this, the final production of the summer season.

John Simm and Dervla Kirwan lead the cast of Shakespeare's Macbeth at Chichester Festival Theatre from 21 September a?" 26 October, with a press night on 27 September. The full company joining them in Paul Miller's production are: Heider Ali (2nd Murderer), Michael Balogun (Macduff), David Burnett (1st Murderer/Menteith), Roseanna Frascona (Weird Sister), Leah Gayer (Weird Sister), Lauren Grace (Weird Sister), Stuart Laing (Banquo), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Ross), Avital Lvova (Lennox), Harry Peacock (Porter/Siward), Isabel Pollen (Lady Macduff), Christopher Ravenscroft (Duncan/Doctor), Beatriz Romilly (Malcolm) and Nathan Welsh (Donalbain), with Jacob Blazdell and Harvey McGuinness sharing the role of Fleance, and Noah Peirson and Matthew O'Shea that of Young Macduff.

Stephen Adly Guirgis's play is as relevant today as ever, its coruscating examination of the nature of American justice and religious redemption losing none of its power a generation on from its first outing.

Chichester Festival Theatre's Festival 2019 has been announced today by Artistic Director Daniel Evans, offering the colourful variety of work for which Chichester is renowned. New for 2019 is The Spiegeltent, a unique venue for an eclectic range of events.

For Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, Kate Hewitt directs Oberon K. A. Adjepong (Lucius Jenkins), Matthew Douglas (D'Amico), Dervla Kirwan (Mary Jane Hanrahan), Ukweli Roach (Angel Cruz) and Joplin Sibtain (Valdez). The production previews from 14 February, with a Press Night on 20 February, and runs until 30 March.

The Old Vic is pleased to announce casting for The Greatest Wealth, curated by Lolita Chakrabarti and directed by Adrian Lester to celebrate 70 years of the National Health Service.

The Daily Mail has reported that Sinead Cusack is set to star alongside Sir Ian McKellen an upcoming production of Shakespeare's King Lear. Cusack will portray Lear's loyal courtier Kent. The Mail describes her approach as playing the Earl as 'an Angela Merkel-esque, straight-talking woman.'

Richard Eyre's sold out Hampstead Theatre production of Mr Foote's Other Leg will transfer to Theatre Royal Haymarket from 28th October, for a limited season in London's West End. Press night Wednesday 4th November. The new comedy, set in Georgian London, written by Ian Kelly, directed by Richard Eyre, and designed by Tim Hatley, met with acclaim from both critics and the general public alike upon its opening at the Hampstead Theatre in September.

The Daily Mail reports that Hampstead Theatre's production of Ian Kelly's MR. FOOTE'S OTHER LEG, starring Simon Russell Beale and directed by Richard Eyre, will transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket next month.
