Kick off 2019 in spectacular style with a New Year's Day special episode of Doctor Who on Tuesday, January 1st, moving from its traditional Christmas Day timeslot.  Leading up to the first-ever “Who Year's Day,” BBC AMERICA will present a Doctor Who marathon, starting with all the Christmas specials at 12pm ET/PT on Monday, December 24th, going into the big day itself, Tuesday, December 25th. After that, it's a marathon of all the Doctors, starting with Peter Capaldi, followed by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith, leading straight into the New Year's special on Tuesday, January 1st.

CBeebies has today announced that Orlando Bloom is the latest star to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story.

According to Variety, David Tennant will star with Emily Watson in psychological thriller “Quicksand.”

BBC AMERICA'S new season of Doctor Who, featuring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth and first female Doctor, drew 1.4 million viewers and 658,000 Adults 25-54 in its 1:45pm global premiere.  Doctor Who now ranks as the fastest growing drama on TV this year with a +48% increase over the previous season premiere in Nielsen live/same day ratings. The season opener ranked as the #1 program in its timeslot across all of cable in the target demos and was the #1 most searched program and #1 most talked about program on social media with 93% positive sentiment. The new season is now Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. 

DOCTOR WHO Season 11 is off to a shaky start. Despite Jodie Whittaker (the 13th and first female Doctor) and her merry band of ethnically-diverse traveling companions, the first episode was trite and sloppy. Let's hope she isn't struck off the register as George Lazenby was for his one-and-done portrayal of James Bond. #DoctorWho #SpoilerAlert

Amazon Studios released the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated series adaptation of Good Omens at a panel discussion at New York Comic-Con, alongside poster art and never seen before images.

While at New York Comic Con promoting Prime Video's 'Good Omens,' Jon Hamm, David Tennant, and Michael Sheen sit down with Vulture. During the interview, Sheen and Tennant, who've recently played Hamlet on the stage, are tasked to have a Hamlet 'act-off' with Hamm as Ophelia. 

BBC Studios has announced ahead of Mipcom 2018, that Richard Gere (Chicago, Pretty Woman), Billy Howle (Witness for the Prosecution, On Chesil Beach) and showrunner Tom Rob Smith (Child 44, London Spy, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), will head to Mipcom in Cannes to launch MotherFatherSon at a special event on Monday 15th October.

AFI FEST presented by Audi will close with the World Premiere of Focus Features and Working Title's MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS.  Directed by Josie Rourke and written by Academy Award® nominee Beau Willimon, the historical drama is based on John Guy's biography, “Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart.”  The film stars Academy Award® nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, along with Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Martin Compston, Ismael Cordova, Brendan Coyle, Ian Hart, Adrian Lester, James McArdle, David Tennant and Guy Pearce.  The Closing Night Gala will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.

The Doctor Who global premiere is getting even bigger. The new season of Doctor Who hits BBC AMERICA timed to the UK premiere broadcast on Sunday, October 7th at 1:45pm ET/PT. At the same time, fans at New York Comic Con will watch the premiere followed by a panel with star Jodie Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Attendees will get to experience the first episode live together and join the Q&A with Whittaker, Chibnall and Strevens.

Amazon Prime Video today announced its lineup for New York Comic Con 2018. The panels feature highly-anticipated new Prime Original series Good Omens and The Boys, as well as returning favorites The Man in the High Castle and Lore. Cast and creators participating in the panels include Neil Gaiman, showrunner of Good Omens along with series stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant; The Man in the High Castle executive producer Isa Dick Hackett along with cast members; Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer of Lore; and Eric Kripke showrunner of The Boys. Actress Paget Brewster ('Criminal Minds') has originated the voice role for Della Duck, who until now has been a rarely seen character, in this morning's epic one-hour season finale of Disney's hit series 'DuckTales' on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Della Duck is the twin sister of Donald Duck and long-lost mother to Huey, Dewey and Louie. She made her first-ever animated onscreen appearance in the series earlier this season on 'DuckTales' and was first mentioned in a Donald Duck newspaper comic strip and animated short film in the late 1930s. As daring as her Uncle Scrooge and as stubborn as her brother Donald, Della is a fearless pilot and explorer. As kids, Della and Donald were Scrooge's original adventure crew, eager to chart the unknown.
