Chicano playwright David A. Tucker II wins the 2023 National Latine Playwrights Award for his black comedy, The Nude. He will be featured at the inaugural National Latine Playwrights Festival in June 2024, hosted by the Arizona Theatre Company.

Under Lee Cooley's adroit direction, Jeffrey Hatcher's HOLMES AND WATSON is a fast paced and entertaining romp towards an entirely unanticipated climax.

All of these theaters had programming that was - you know, sort of your tent poles on the mainstage, your occasional blockbuster musical. On the second stage, there was riskier work, new work being developed that might not appeal to a 700-seat audience. I thought that was incredible - you're doing these blockbuster Broadway musicals, the best of the best plays, and then new work that is exciting and thrilling. And that sort of became part of my DNA as I was thinking about directing.

Southwest Shakespeare announces its Taliesin West Series for the 2022/23 Season.

David Ira Goldstein, recently retired from his position as Arizona Theatre Company's artistic director, returns to put his distinctive signature on the play. The result is a sensitively drawn, powerfully commanding, and deeply unsettling portrait of a family in waiting for the inevitable, featuring a remarkable performance by Anna Lentz.

In so doing, he has stamped his signature as a worthy successor to the brilliant David Ira Goldstein and revealed his own distinctive artistic vision. Endowed with a brilliant cast, the show runs through March 4th at the Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.
