ArtsEmerson Announces Its 10th Anniversary Season

ArtsEmerson, Boston's leading presenter of contemporary world theatre, proudly announces its 10th Anniversary Season featuring five new commissioned works and five reprises from six different countries. The 2019/20 season continues ArtsEmerson's commitment to international work and to contemporary artistic forms including circus, mixed media, music theatre and first person narrative all from diverse perspectives. The landmark anniversary season will feature the world premiere of Detroit Red (produced by ArtsEmerson and written by Will Power) which uplifts Malcolm X's under-examined, life-shaping experiences as a young man who called Boston home. It will also feature the U.S. Premiere of Plata Quemada (TEATROCINEMA), the gritty true story of Argentina's most daring bank heist.

Amazon Renews HANNA for Second Season

Amazon has renewed 'Hanna' for a second season, according to Variety. The series debuted on March 29 and is based on the 2011 film of the same name.

Amazon Prime Video will present a special 24-hour sneak preview of the premiere episode of its thrilling new Prime Original Series Hanna, to be made available for all Amazon Prime customers during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3.  To promote this new series coming to Prime Video in March and to announce the sneak preview of the first episode, Prime Video will air a 60-second commercial during the 3rd quarter of Sunday's Rams-Patriots championship game.

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival announces the complete lineup for the 2019 Summer Season, including Shakespeare's boisterous MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and adventure-laden CYMBELINE, alongside the New York premiere of CYRANO, a new adaptation of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac written by Jason O'Connell and Brenda Withers. Written and performed by Palestinian author and performer Amer Hlehel, TAHA has been translated into English and directed by Amir Nizar Zuabi, one of the Middle East's most important writer/directors.

Rory Mullarkey's brand-new translation will be directed by Boyd, celebrated former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Having studied Russian and trained as a director in Moscow, extraordinarily, he will be directing Chekhov - the literary love of his life - for the first time.
