The IU Theatre and Dance At First Sight New Play Festival is back for its twelfth year featuring a world premiere musical as its showcase production with book, music, and lyrics by third year M.F.A. playwriting candidate David Davila and direction by third year M.F.A. directing candidate Lauren Diesch.

The Obie-Award winning The Fire This Time Festival has announced the four playwrights – Kendra Augustin, Kim Brockington, Jahquale Mazyck and James Anthony Tyler –  who will be developing work in the 5th cycle of its New Works Lab program.

David Davila’s Aztec Pirates, a Latinx Fantasia on National Themes, Part One: The Insignificance of Life on Mars will receive a virtual reading presentation this Sunday May 2nd as part of The Landing Theatre Company’s 10th annual New American Voices Playwrighting Festival.

Lone Star Theatre Co is proud to announce that their upcoming season will include new works by Alan Charnock, Emily Comisar, Judith Leora, David Davila and more. The   growing company, now in it's fourth season is also excited to announce the addition of playwright/producer Emily Comisar (Track Twelve) to the team. She joins Lone Star as the new managing director.

On Monday, May 19th, Lone Star Theatre Co will present a staged reading of THE CAPITOL PLAYS, five plays inspired by Wendy Davis and the crazy day and night she spent defending women's rights in Austin, TX. The plays -- by Raquel Almazan, Mando Alvarado, David Davila and Lindsay Hicks -- depict different events (true or fictional) that could all take place at the Texas Capitol.

After a successful sold-out show at the Laurie Beechman Theater, playwright/songwriter, David Davila and friends came back to rock Stage 72 at the Triad with more fun songs about love, sex, strippers, and following your dreams. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

David Davila's premiered his new song cycle, TALES FROM HIGHWAY 281 at the Intar Theatre's Roots & New Music Festival on Nov 17th. TALES FROM HIGHWAY 281 tells the stories of lovers and dreamers along the Texas/Mexico border through the accoustic guitars and vocal harmonies of David Davila and Keith Hines.
