David Davila's premiered his new song cycle, TALES FROM HIGHWAY 281 at the Intar Theatre's Roots & New Music Festival on Nov 17th. TALES FROM HIGHWAY 281 tells the stories of lovers and dreamers along the Texas/Mexico border through the accoustic guitars and vocal harmonies of David Davila and Keith Hines. The INTAR Roots & New Music Festival is a forum for some of NYC’s leading and emergent composers, performers, and genre-bending musicians. Performers included guitarists Elliott Sharp and Cristian Amigo (guitar duo), playwright/song-writer David Davila with special guest Keith Hines (vocal/guitar duo), Miguel Frasconi (glass instruments), The Guidonian Hand (trombone ensemble), violinist/composer Jason Kao Hwang, The Izzi Ramkissoon Ensemble, Gerard Every (Sephardic song), Rami El-Aasser (Arabic percussion), guitarist/composer Patrick Grant, and many others.
