Performers selected from over 200 competing dancers will have the opportunity to share a dressing room with their ballet heroes and perform on the same stage for the Stars of Today Meet Stars of Tomorrow Gala on Saturday night. Thirty-seven award-winning dancers from the Straz Center's Next Generation Ballet (NGB) and winners from YAGP will be part of this prestigious event.

It's always a tough choice, at this annual Ballet Icons Gala, to know whether to review the performances on stage or the extravagant antics of it's animated Russian audience. It's a starry evening, where the glamorous attendees don floor length gowns, the men wear tuxedos and although it's meant to start at 7pm, you can dream on if you think anything is starting on time! What an occasion though, a varied offering of classical and contemporary repertoire and danced by some of ballet's most recognisable stars with, it must be said, mixed success.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is thrilled to present, in association with its Joyce Theater Productions initiative, the world premiere of The Tenant, a new dance play directed by choreographer Arthur Pita and starring American Ballet Theatre (ABT) principal James Whiteside, with ABT soloist Cassandra Trenary, and Kibrea Carmichael. Based on the 1964 novel of the same name by Roland Topor, The Tenant will be presented at The Joyce Theater, from November 6-11.

Created by American Ballet Theatre principal Daniil Simkin, the work featured performances by Simkin, ABT soloist Cassandra Trenary, Hubbard Street dancers Ana Lopez and Brett Conway; choreography by Alejandro Cerrudo; projections by Dmitrij Simkin; interactive media by Arístides Job García Hernández; and costumes by Dior.
