The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Band's Visit will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Upon closing, the production will have played 589 regular and 36 preview performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 W 47th Street).

Producers Suzanne Gilad & Larry Rogowsky are pleased to announce that Jane Bruce (Jagged Little Pill) and Cathryn Wake (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) will join the cast of the critically-acclaimed musical comedy THE OTHER JOSH COHEN now playing at the Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd St). Jane joins the cast tonight, Tuesday, January 29, taking over the roles played by original cast member Kate Wetherhead. Cathryn begins performances on Tuesday, February 5, taking over for Hannah Elless who departs the production on February 3. Megan Loomis (The Dead 1904) joins the cast as the female standby.

Not too often does an evening in the theatre take me back to the days of NYMF (New York Music Festival), when my brother Tom Kitt and his college friend/lyricist Brian Yorkey workshopped a little show with a small band called Feeling Electric into a fully-realized musical with tremendous heart.

After a live performance on FOX 5's Good Day New York, the company held a plaid-clad meet & greet at the rehearsal studio. Reproductive rights advocacy organization A is For once again brought together stars of stage and screen with Broadway Acts for Women: A Star-Studded Night of Karaoke and Comedy on September 30, 2018. The night feature performances from Broadway stars, actors, and comedians who support access to reproductive health care. Broadway Acts for Women is the only benefit that brings the Broadway community out in force for abortion rights and reproductive health care.

The complete cast of the critically-acclaimed musical comedy THE OTHER JOSH COHEN, opening Off-Broadway this fall at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street) has just been announced. Joining Drama Desk nominees Steve Rosen and David Rossmer - the show's creators, who will co-star in the title roles - are Drama Desk nominee Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde), Hannah Elless (Bright Star), Elizabeth Nestlerode (Once Tour), Luke Darnell(Million Dollar Quartet Vegas) and Louis Tucci (Buddy); Zachary Spound (Cruel Intentions: The Musical) will serve as swing.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is proud to premiere Little Orphan Danny, a musical memoir from Dan Finnerty about what it means to be a good son. This surprisingly touching and irreverently funny show is for everyone out there who has a mother. Julie Foldesi, a veteran Broadway actor who recently appeared in Sunday in the Park with George with Jake Gyllenhaal, plays, among many roles, Dan's birth mother and adoptive mother. The show is Music Directed by Dan Lipton, who was recently the Associate Music Director for Sting's The Last Ship on Broadway.

PITTSBURGH CLO is pleased to welcome a collection of writing teams from across the country to Pittsburgh for the inaugural SPARK festival in March. These teams were chosen from a highly-selective submissions process and will have the opportunity to rehearse and revise their work in residencies ranging from two days to three weeks. SPARK will provide dramaturgy and production resources to 10 new musicals at all stages of development, in addition to the world premiere of UP AND AWAY. As a part of the development period, eight of the musicals will receive public presentations through which the writing teams can gather audience insights and focus their intentions for the next phase of development. A major initiative of Pittsburgh CLO's recently completed Next Generation Capital Campaign, SPARK is designed to cultivate new and innovative work from emerging and established musical theater artists.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is proud to present the world premiere of Lost Laughs: The Slapstick Tragedy of Fatty Arbuckle, written by Andy Bayiates and Aaron Muñoz, directed by Nathan Keepers, with performances February 14 - March 11, 2018, at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre located at 50 East Merrimack Street in historic downtown Lowell. In addition, MRT is hosting a panel discussion on the historical context of Lost Laughs titled "Women's Rights, Prohibition, and the Fall of Fatty," on Thursday, March 1, immediately after the 7:30 pm show (details below).
