The Blind Owl returns to the Chicago theatre scene with the play THE COMING WORLD written by playwright and Pulitzer prize finalist Christopher Shinn. Directed by founding artistic director Azar Kazemi, THE COMING WORLD is set in Connecticut in a pre-9/11 America. It tackles issues regarding class, violence, intimacy, and the heartbreak that occurs when loving someone is more painful than letting them go. THE COMING WORLD runs August 1st through August 17th. Performances will take place Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm at the Prop Thtr located at 3502 N. Elston Avenue in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood. (more...)

Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich announce the cast and creative team for the workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014. The results of the workshop production - including the actors' experience with the work, the aesthetics of the director and designers, and the audience's feedback - will be invaluable to the development of this new play. The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program continues to grow its annual Will on Wheels program, which tours works of William Shakespeare to schools around the Bay Area, with a record-setting 24 performances this year. The 2014 Will on Wheels tour spotlights abridged versions of two Shakespeare classics: Romeo and Juliet and a two-woman production of As You Like It.
