A Bronx Tale has been a "family" affair for decades. This musical adaptation is its next evolutionary step following the 1993 non-musical film, which was drawn from an earlier autobiographical one-man Off-Broadway and later Broadway play written by and starring by Chazz Palminteri.

Stand-up comedy - the cornerstone of the Comedy Central foundation - is FRONT AND CENTER to kick off the new year! January 2019 is Stand-Up Month on Comedy Central, featuring four all-new stand-up specials from comedic heavyweights Ron Funches (@midnight, The Half Hour), James Davis (Hood Adjacent with James Davis), Chris Distefano (Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano, The Half Hour) and Roy Wood Jr. (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Roy Wood Jr.: Father Figure), airing consecutive Fridays throughout the month at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. Based on the 1993 hit film, the stage musical A Bronx Tale has two of the movie's stars collaborating behind the scenes ... with a book by Chazz Palminteri, who played Sonny on film and Robert De Niro directing with Jerry Zaks. De Niro played Lorenzo onscreen, Calogero's father. Like the film this show is an instant hit with audiences who savor and take to heart the Sicilian lifestyle. This well cast and well directed national tour plays the Hollywood Pantages through November 25.

Moonlight Presents offers two holiday events in December at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Sponsored by Dr. Bronner's, the shows include the Doo Wop Project Christmas, featuring stars of Broadway's "Jersey Boys" and "Motown: the Musical," on Sat., Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Amongst the singers is San Diego native Charl Brown who began his musical theatre journey as a student at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He would go on to appearing in a number of shows locally, including The Moonlight's "Ragtime" in 2002, before going on to Broadway. Tickets are priced $15 - $40. On Sat., Dec. 8, experience the holiday favorite "Home Alone" on a big screen with pre-movie activities including a snow play area for the kids. Tickets are $5 or $10. The international comedy hit My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy!, featuring actor and comedian Peter J. Fogel, will be coming back to Stage West at The Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, from Dec. 19 through Jan. 20, 2019.

Direct from starring in the hit Broadway musical A Bronx Tale-written by Chazz Palminteri and directed by Robert De Niro-San Francisco Bay Area native Bobby Conte Thornton brings his acclaimed concert, Blame It On My Youth, to Feinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, January 11 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 12 at 8 p.m.

dick clark productions announced today that Participant Media and DreamWorks Pictures' Green Book, directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali and Linda Cardellini, will receive both the “Hollywood Ensemble Award” and “Hollywood Screenwriter Award” at the 22nd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards,” which will take place on Sunday, November 4 at The Beverly Hilton. The TIFF 2018 People's Choice Award winner is written by Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga and Brian Currie and is inspired by a true friendship that in 1962 transcended race, class and the Mason-Dixon line.

If you've ever seen the movie or one-man-show version of A Bronx Tale you already know that it's a captivating, emotional story about a young working class man growing up during the doo-wop era of the 1960's who's torn between the opposing worlds of criminal life on the streets and the proverbial 'straight and narrow.' The musical adaptation of the story, featuring music by Alan Menken and a book by Chazz Palminteri (who wrote the one-man-show and starred in the both the play and feature film) pairs the emotional complexity of the film with spirited, high-energy song and dance numbers that make for a truly entertaining night at the theatre.
