American Repertory Ballet (ARB) opens its 2017-2018 season with a full evening of works celebrating 15 years of Mary Barton's choreography by showcasing three of her most recognized works in a program entitled Woman of Dance: Celebrating the Work of Mary Barton, on Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Rider University's Bart Luedeke Center Theater (2083 Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville).

Slacker. Indie filmmaker. Oscar nominee. Writer, director, producer, actor Richard Linklater (b. July 30, 1960) is all these things and more. Boasting a trove of never-before-seen archival footage, American Masters: Richard Linklater -- dream is destiny provides an unconventional look at the fiercely independent style of filmmaking that emerged out of Austin, Texas in the late 1980s and 1990s with Linklater as its poster boy. The new documentary premieres nationwide Friday, September 1 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). The film will be available to stream the following day via pbs.org/americanmasters and PBS OTT apps.

Midnight at The Never Get, the award-winning and critically-acclaimed musical hit of last summer's New York Musical Festival, is enjoying its New England premiere this summer in a co-production by Visceral Entertainment (Michael Chase Gosselin and Tim Sulka) and Dustin Sparks Productions. The Tony Award-winning play Indecent comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances, Friday, November 17 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) as part of the fall Broadway's best lineup.
