The Classics Theatre Project's Artistic Director Joey Folsom today announced casting and creative team details for the Company's inaugural production, in a new adaptation by Ben Schroth of Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard. The Cherry Orchard, directed by Joey Folsom, will run June 21 - July 14, 2018 in the Kim Dawson Theatre at the The Trinity River Arts Center.

The selection committee for the inaugural session of The 5th Avenue Theatre's new musical initiative, First Draft: Raise Your Voice, has been announced. This cycle is currently soliciting submissions nation-wide from womxn, gender non-conforming and non-binary folx with a submission deadline of June 15. On the heels of his new album 'Sunnyside,' master storyteller Jake La Botz will perform with JD McPherson at The Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY on April 20. His first album in four years, 'Sunnyside' finds the new Nashville transplant recounting his past and present atop an irresistible, driving groove. Jimmy Sutton recorded La Botz in his original hometown of Chicago at an all-analog studio, teasing dynamite performances out of the heavily tattooed artist.

Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the 2004 novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. It was adapted for the stage in 2011 by Rick Elice and provides a backstory for the characters of Peter Pan. In various reviews the play is described as literate, clever, enchanting and an extraordinary coming of age story. It's a play that transcends time and one that is equally at home in Victorian times as in the 21st Century. The show premiered in California then moved to Broadway where it was nominated for several awards including a Tony for best play.

Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced full casting for the Seattle premiere of The Nether, Jennifer Haley's award-winning play that asks: What responsibility do humans have for one another as we dive deeper and deeper into a technology-centered world? Featuring a stellar cast, including Pilar O'Connell as Morris and James Weidman as Sims/Papa, The Nether is part crime drama, part haunting sci-fi thriller about a futuristic and disturbing virtual wonderland that provides sensory immersion devoid of consequence for its users.
