Of the 50M global visitors who come to NYC each year, an impressive number arrive in search of the best performances classical music has to offer. New York City's celebrated performance spaces -  Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Metropolitan Opera -  are not only household names in many languages, they are also akin to sacred spaces.

The Players, the city's most fabled private social club for actors and artists, will present its inaugural Helen Hayes Award to Barbara Cook, the musical theatre legend who is widely considered one of the twentieth century's best interpreters of the Great American Songbook, at a gala ceremony on Thursday, September 15th.

Los Angeles' reigning Pumpkin King, Danny Elfman, will return to the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, October 29 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, October 30 at 6:30 pm performing his role of Jack Skellington singing live to film for a very special screening of Disney's timeless holiday classic, 'TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.'

Summertime brings to mind nighttime fireflies, lemonade that makes your lips pucker, rocking chairs creaking on the front porch, and, like the famous Porgy and Bess tune of the same name, melodies that trickle into the night. Summertime Swing is the latest masterpiece and collaboration at its finest by the legendary Michael Feinstein and Marilyn Maye, evoking a sultry, steamy love letter to the fleeting season and a prime example of craft, art, and passion. The moment I walked into the dining room at Feinstein's/54 Below, where Summertime Swing played through September 1 a fashionably dressed gentleman greeted me with, 'It's a fantastic show.' The packed house was already alive with thrilling enthusiasm as they eagerly waited for the show to start. When you attend a show headlined by a golden age cabaret great and a prolific 'music revivalist' who happens to have the venue named for him, you come expecting to be no less than entertained. Summertime Swing elevated the art of summer entertainment tenfold--- a tribute to anything we could hope for in the last days of summer.

In the golden years of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), during the '70s and early '80s, the singer behind the hit songs was king, and so was balladeer Basil Valdez, one of the most enduring music icons from the Philippines. Valdez, now 64, is set to hold a rare concert appearance in New York City on Sunday, September 18, at 5 p.m. at Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel (135-20 39th Avenue, Flushing, N.Y.). His concert is aptly billed as 'Basil Valdez: Ngayon at Kailanman.'

3-D Theatricals (3DT) is going Technicolor® with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's irresistible story of Joseph, his jealous brothers and one very colorful garment in this delightful musical saga that swirls on stage September 30 through October 9 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in Redondo Beach, CA. The production then moves to 3DT's newest home, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in Cerritos, CA. Recording and stage star Linda Eder will showcase her powerhouse voice during Linda Eder Sings Judy Garland with the Houston Symphony at 8 p.m. Sept. 9-10 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11.

For the second year, the Four Nations Ensemble will make its home at Merkin Concert Hall to present three programs of chamber and vocal music by Bach and his contemporaries, from Handel to Couperin to Vivaldi. The programs, each on Monday evenings, will be held January 30, March 13, and May 8, 2017 at 8:00 PM.

Six leaders in the business, medical, education, and philanthropic communities have been elected as new members of the Board of Directors of the New York Philharmonic, and five global leaders have joined the New York Philharmonic International Advisory Board (IAB), established in the fall of 2014 to support the Philharmonic's activities abroad, including the New York Philharmonic Global Academy.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Nancy Dussault in "MY LIFE UPON THE WICKED STAGE" on September 27, 2016 @ 7:00PM. Nancy will take the audience on a musical journey, returning to those heady days of her Broadway life. Expect this Golden Age leading lady to sing the brilliant songs of Richard Rodgers, Jule Styne, Burton Lane, and Stephen Sondheim. You'll also get to re-live the time when she introduced the classic, "Make Someone Happy". Nancy will regale with tales of being the first co-host of Good Morning America, co-starring in the New Dick Van Dyke show, and starring with Ted Knight in "Too Close For Comfort", before returning to Broadway in Side By Side By Sondheim and Into The Woods. In "My Life-Upon The Wicked Stage" Dussault brings her musicality, comedic storytelling, and unique personal accessibility to songs including "Getting Married Today", "Look To The Rainbow", "Where Is The Tribe For Me", "Old Friend" and of course, " Make Someone Happy".

On October 15, celebrated pianist Jeremy Denk joins the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, 'the leading orchestra of its kind in America' (The New York Times), in its 92Y debut and its first New York performance since Carnegie Hall five years ago, opening 92Y's superb 2016/17 classical concert season.  This trailblazing ensemble performs the New York premiere of O Mikros, O Megas (The Small World, The Huge World) by George Tsontakis, whose ties to the Orchestra have included three other world premieres earning a Grawemeyer Award and Grammy nomination.

The WICKED Tour recently welcomed Jessica Vosk as Elphaba and Kristen Martin as Nessarose to the Company. Providence will be the second city that Ms. Vosk and Ms. Martin visit as part of the WICKED National Tour.
