The New York Theater Ballet announced its new season. The NYTB has made its new home in a new studio space in St. Mark's Church in the East Village. They will also hop around Manhattan theaters and small towns along the East Coast as part of its goal to reach underserved cities.

In its fifth edition, The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) Awards honor 15 organizations and individuals who have inspired the community with their passion, conviction, and achievements. Presented by AARP, TOFA-NY caps the month-long Filipino American Heritage celebrations in the New York tri-state area. This year's TOFA-NY Awards ceremony is slated for 8 p.m. on October 31 at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall.

BERKELEY, CA (UPDATED September 1, 2015) – Music Director Joana Carneiro and Berkeley Symphony have announced programming for the 2015-2016 season, including the West Coast premiere of Laterna Magica by Kaija Saariaho, who will be a visiting music professor at UC Berkeley this fall; the West Coast premiere of Mark Grey's new Frankenstein Symphony, co-commissioned with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; and the U.S. premiere of Fachwerk by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, featuring the Bay Area debut of Geir Draugsvoll, a pioneer of the bayan, or classical accordion, for whom the work was written. The Orchestra also welcomes soprano Simone Osborne, and violinist Simone Porter, both making their Bay Area debuts, in addition to a first-time Berkeley Symphony appearance by pianist Conrad Tao.
Children's Program Musical Explorers Launches in Omaha

Omaha Performing Arts announced today the launch of Musical Explorers, a new music education program for children in kindergarten through second grade produced in partnership with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute. Omaha Performing Arts is one of four performing arts centers invited to adapt Musical Explorers for use in their own communities.

On October 9, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will open its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honors the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and will feature guest artists Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale. The program will feature numbers from all eleven of the collaborations between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Selections will include 'A Wonderful Guy' and 'Some Enchanted Evening' from South Pacific, 'The Sound of Music' from The Sound of Music, and 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma!.

Ballet School NY, the official training school of New York Theatre Ballet, is pleased to announce its 2015-16 training program, beginning Monday, September 21, 2015 at NYTB's home studio, located at St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 E. 10th Street, 2nd Floor, New York City. Classes will be offered Monday through Saturday. Cost ranges from $1,075 to $3,940 per year, depending on the age and level of the student. Houseworld, a new surrealist immersive theater performance, will receive its world premiere at a transformed historic rectory in Brooklyn, October 8-November 21. One by one, 30 guests, greeted by an uncanny cast of characters, will step into a dream world designed to explore different facets of the human psyche. Guests are free to find their own path, from the dark recesses of the basement to the illumination of the attic. Intimate encounters that range from the dark to the delightful seek to ignite the senses and jolt audiences into a different psychic state.
