Pink Martini, the internationally celebrated "suave salon orchestra" (New York Times) will be returning to British shores this Autumn for a series of spectacular shows that fuse their unique blend of jazz, world music, cabaret, lounge and 1940-50s film music. The tour, which starts in Bristol on October 21st, takes in cities including London, Oxford, Liverpool, Gateshead, Glasgow, York and Manchester, and coincides with the release of their new album, Je Dis Oui.

3-D Theatricals (3DT) is going Technicolor® with Andrew Lloyd Webber (Music) and Tim Rice's (Lyrics) irresistible story of 'Joseph...', his brothers, and one very colorful garment in this delightful musical saga that swirls on stage September 30 through October 9 (press opening October 1) at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in Redondo Beach, CA. The production then moves to 3DT's newest home, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in Cerritos, CA. October 14 - 23, 2016 (press opening October 15) as their 2016 - 2017 premier season offering. Both venues are located in Los Angeles County.

Opera Exposures to Present Recital Honoring Elizabeth Taylor Browning

Opera Exposures  (http://www.operaexposures.org), the not-for-profit opera company founded by Edna Greenwich in 2004, will present  a special recital celebrating  Elizabeth Taylor Browning, the first African American opera singer to gain recognition in Europe and the United States in the mid to late 19th century, on Sunday, September 18, at 3:00 PM at the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island, 1466 Manor Road.  Tickets, available at the door, are $25. Children under ten will be admitted free of charge.

It just might be the most anticipated concert event of the year; the tickets for Tony Winner Cynthia Erivo and two-time Tony Nominee Joshua Henry's one-night-only performance of The Last Five Years sold out in less than an hour on the first day of the evening's pre-sale. With the concert, which will be performed at Town Hall, only two days away, the entire team is hard at work perfecting the piece before sharing it with the lucky few who nabbed tickets. This afternoon, Jason Robert Brown, the composer of The Last Five Years, took to Facebook to share a sneak peak of one of the orchestra's final rehearsals before the big night. Check it out below!

Devilish Theatrical Presents THE DEVIL YOU KNOW

Devilish Theatrical in association with Theatre of Arts has announced the world premiere of The Devil You Know-A Rhythm & Blues Story, a new musical with book by David Carey Foster & Larry Poindexter, and music & lyrics by Poindexter. Directed by Darin Anthony with musical direction by Brad Ellis, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Trevon Davis, Julia Harriman, Gildart Jackson, Harrison Killian-White, Alexis Krause, Braxton Molinaro, Larry Poindexter, Niles Rivers, Sasha Sloan, James Patrick Stuart, and Bill Watterson. Opening is set for Sunday, October 2 at 4pm and the strictly limited engagement will run through October 23 only.

Citywide Showcase on September 15 Celebrates Arts Projects By New York City Youth

Teens from across the city come together in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing on Thursday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. to tell their stories through music, visual art, film, photography, and dance as part of NeON Arts, a program of the NYC Department of Probation (DOP) in partnership with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute. Launched in spring 2014, NeON Arts integrates arts programming into sevenNeighborhood Opportunity Networks (NeONs) across New York City, helping young people develop creative, social, and emotional skills while building positive peer relationships and enriching their communities through art. This summer, six organizations were selected to lead programming from July-September 2016:

Opera San Jose opens its 2016-17 season with Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. Donizetti drew inspiration for this opera from Sir Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor. The story revolves around a feud between two families, the Ashtons and the Ravenswoods. Lucia Ashton loves Edgar, master of Ravenswood, whose land her family has taken by force. When Lucia's brother, out of political necessity, forces her into an arranged marriage, there are dire consequences. Donizetti expertly combines the epic story of Lucia with some of the most wonderful melodies from his pen and the most affecting mad scene in theatre.

Scott Wheeler Premieres Two Operas, Including Newest NAGA, Today

On the heels of releasing his latest album Portraits & Tributes, award-winning composer/conductor/teacher Scott Wheeler celebrates two new major works to be performed in fall 2016: Naga, his fourth opera, set to a libretto by Cerise Jacobs, premiering September 10-17 in Boston; and Songs To Fill The Void, a three-song cycle set to poetry by Robert Barefield, premiering October 2 in New York City at Weill Recital Hall. In addition, the New Juilliard Ensemble conducted by Joel Sachs will present his chamber symphony City of Shadows on October 1.

The Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, America's longest running festival dedicated to new music for orchestra, is pleased to appoint Cristian Macelaru as its new Music Director and Conductor. Macelaru takes on the position with immediate effect and conducts his inaugural season in August 2017. He succeeds longtime Music Director and Conductor Marin Alsop, who stepped down after her 25th Anniversary season this August.
