The new musical based on the motion picture "Leap of Faith," produced by Paramount Pictures Corporation and written by Janus Cercone, will begin previews on Tuesday, April 3 and will open in late April (date to be announced) at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).

Rehearsals begin today, February 14, for Broadway's LEAP OF FAITH, beginning previews on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). LEAP OF FAITH stars four-time Tony nominee Raul Esparza as Jonas Nightingale, Jessica Phillips as Marla Humes, Kendra Kassebaum as Sam Nightingale, Kecia Lewis-Evans as Ida Mae Robinson, Leslie Odom, Jr. as Isaiah Robinson, Krystal Joy Brown as Ornella and Talon Ackerman as Jake Humes. The production will open on April 26 at 6pm.

Tony Award winner Alice Ripley, Julia Murney, and the cast of 'Million Dollar Quartet' will join the previously announced, Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde, Wicked), Bryce Ryness (Hair, Legally Blonde), Kristen Beth Williams (Anything Goes), Emmy Winner Michael Imperioli, Shoshana Bean (Wicked), Mario Cantone, Tiffany Engen (Hairspray), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Matthew Stocke (Rock of Ages, The Wedding Singer), Amy Spanger (Elf, Rock of Ages), and Andrew Kober (Hair) for Broadway's Spotlight on St. Jude, March 6.

Transport Group,'s 2011 Gimme A Break! benefit honored playwright Douglas Carter Beane and composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn last night, December 5 at the Asia Society and Museum. Gimme A Break! began with a cocktail reception followed by a performance featuring Broadway stars sharing their 'big break' experiences through stories and songs. Los Angeles musical theatre credits include the world premieres of Dangerous Beauty at the Pasadena Playhouse and Leap of Faith at the Ahmanson Theatre, as well as the Los Angeles premiere of Floyd Collins. Bryce fronts a rock band called Ryness and has sung backup for Roger Daltrey, Sarah Brightman, Frankie Valli, Marin Mazzie, and Josh Groban.

La Jolla Playhouse's Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman, will close on August 28.
