The Argyle Theatre has officially opened its production of A Chorus Line, directed by Evan Pappas and Francine Espiritu, choreographed by Francine Espiritu, with musical direction by Jonathan Brenner. Babylon's shores are brimming and bubbling with beautiful brine now that Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' and half the ocean washed up on the stage of the Argyle Theatre. Ariel, Ursula, King Triton, and a mix of maritime mavens present the classic underwater adventure based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen and the Disney film.

Geffen Playhouse today announced its selection of six local writers to participate in the launch of the inaugural cycle of The Writers' Room, a forum for engagement and collaboration between Los Angeles playwrights. The participants for 2018/2019 are Angelica Cheri, Dipika Guha, Chelsea Marcantel, Brian Otaño, Liza Powel O'Brien and Matt Schatz.
CAGW Releases 2014 Congressional Pig Book

Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) released its 2014 Congressional Pig Book, the 22nd edition of the group's exposé on pork-barrel spending. CAGW was joined at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio). Also in attendance were two live pot-bellied pigs, Churchill and Annabelle, courtesy of the Pig Placement Network in New Jersey, with their handler for the day, Susan Magidson.
