Photo Coverage: Katie Thompson Sings 'FROM HER NOTEBOOK' at the Laurie Beechman Theatre
by Eddie Varley
- Aug 11, 2009
3 years, 7 notebooks, and 1 song on 'So You Think You Can Dance' later... Katie Thompson returned to the Laurie Beechman theater to sing 'songs from her notebook'. When she's not IN a new musical (Michael John LaChiusa's 'Giant' at The Signature Theater) or WRITING a new musical ('R.R.R.E.D. a Secret Musical' coming soon to the New York Musical Theatre Festival) Katie has spent her 'free' time writing pop songs. The concert decided the fates of those songs... because Katie is MAKING A NEW ALBUM and played through every bitter-sweet love, sexy dull-hate, and tragically funny moment she's had since 'KT LIVE' -or at least as many of them that she could fit in an hour!
