LIVING FOR TODAY II is the second annual exciting concert featuring the best of Broadway to benefit the Gilana Shira Alpert Fund. The event will take place at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on October 25 at 9:30PM.

Last year marked the first annual "Living for Today" concert, to benefit the Gilana Shira Alpert fund which was established in November of 2007, as a tribute and memorial to this amazing woman. At the young age of 26, Gilana passed away due to a medical reaction to prescription medications, which led to many complications. Action was taken immediately to preserve her memory, so that her wonderful passion and heart would live on, both literally when her family decided to donate many vital organs, and figuratively by creating this fund, as well as a memorial garden in her hometown in Muskegon. To date, the fund (through the Community Foundation for Muskegon County) has raised over $10,000, and will be used to help those who share Gilana's passions. She went to Indiana University for Theatre, and also studied at the Kinsey Institute. After moving to Chicago, she worked as a sex educator, and was working on applying to grad schools to become a sex therapist. In addition to these passions, Gilana cared about teaching youth about the Holocaust, an event that took the lives of many of her family members.

The concert will feature: Cameron Adams (Shrek, Cry-Baby, Hairspray, The Music Man on ABC); Nick Adams (A Chorus Line, Chicago, Guys & Dolls); Tituss Burgess (Jersey Boys, Little Mermaid, Guys & Dolls); Todd Buonopane (Spelling Bee, Grease, 30 Rock); Ben Cameron (Wicked, Footloose); Celina Carvajal (Toxic Avenger, MTV's Legally Blonde: The Search..., 42nd St., Cats); Lilli Cooper (Spring Awakening); Autumn Hrulbert (Legally Blonde); Amanda Ryan Paige (Zanna Don't); and LaQuet Sharnell (Memphis, Lion King, Sweet Charity).

They will be joined by Sol Baird, Jana DeBusk, Justin Goodemoot, Paul Luoma, Amy Persons, Michael Potsic, Ari Rossen, Sal Sabella, Cassandra Sandberg, Jen Sese, Hannah Sielatycki, & Derrick Trumbly.

The concert will feature original songs by Scott Alan and Bobby Cronin, and direction by David Alpert(Guys & Dolls, The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide... by Tony Kushner). Musical Direction is by Joshua Stephen Kartes (Jefferson Award winner), with Mary Aann Mcsweeney (Avenue Q) on bass and Sharon Fischman on drums.  The event is hosted by Chris Blisset and produced by Justin Huebener.

Tickets are $10 (cover) with $15 food/drink minimum.  For reservations call (212) 695-6909
