With the ongoing Broadway shutdown due to COVID-19 and cancellation of all school field trips, The Broadway League, with the support of the New York City Department of Education and the United Federation of Teachers, will be offering all NYC Public School 10th graders free streaming to three previously recorded Broadway and West End shows.

Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color has just announced its next event aimed at providing opportunity, education, and vital industry connections for stage managers of color.

Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color has just announced its second event to provide opportunity and education for stage managers of color. The event, Résumé & Interview Workshop: Always Be Prepared!, will be offered virtually on Tuesday, March 16, from 6:00-7:30pm EST.

BSMS has announced the five stage managers that have been chosen to receive the first ever Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarships for BIPOC stage managers. Each recipient will receive a complimentary pass to the Broadway Stage Management Symposium as well as a personal meeting with the adjudicator who chose them.

At the first Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color event, Matthew Stern, BSMS founder announced a new scholarship specifically for BIPOC stage managers. ”We acknowledge that there is unintended, systemic racism in our industry. At the Symposium, we want to find a way to open the door for stage managers of color.”

Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color is a newly-formed networking organization that aims to connect early and mid-career BIPOC stage managers with industry professionals.

Christian Dante White has teamed with Brent Dundore to create Broadway Legacy, a photographic and editorial exhibition that celebrates African-American achievement in the Broadway industry. Broadway veteran John Eric Parker serves as styling consultant. 

'A Bronx Tale: The Musical' at Paper Mill Playhouse is a sensational new musical theater piece. It will be on the Millburn stage through March 6th. Co-directed by Jerry Zaks and Robert DeNiro, the book is by Chazz Palminteri based on his real-life experiences as a youth. With music by Alan Menken with lyrics by Glenn Slater and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, the all-star cast delivers exceptional performances.
