Composer and vocalist Trevor Bachman debuts their new musical Shapeshifters to commemorate 50 years of Stonewall at its birthplace, on Christopher Street. Madame's Soiree, The Duplex Developmental Stage, and The Denovan Residency team up to present a hybrid concert experience celebrating queer community and Bachman's most recent work, Shapeshifters.

This winter, the University of Washington School of Drama will present two works by eminent female dramatists, Rutherford and Son by Githa Sowerby, and In the Heart of America by Naomi Wallace. The productions are master's theses for our graduating MFA directors, Cody Holliday Haefner and Amanda Friou.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) is thrilled to announce the eighth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Aaron Carter, Emily Feldman, Dave Harris, Jonathan Spector and Sanaz Toossi.

the TEAM (Rachel Chavkin, Artistic Director; Alexandra Lalonde, Producing Director) the award-winning Brooklyn theatre ensemble, will present Anything That Gives Off Light, a co-production with National Theatre of Scotland and Edinburgh International Festival, from March 14-30 at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) with preceding runs at Virginia Tech and at Crossing Roots: A Rural-Urban Theatre Workshop presented by Cardinal Cross in Whitesburg, KY. Opening night at Joe's Pub is Saturday, March 16.

The return engagement of The Public Theater production of Black Light will conclude at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street) on Sunday, November 11, following 13 previews and 30 performances. Altogether, Black Light will have played 68 performances in New York this year, starting at Joe's Pub earlier in 2018.

ISLE of KLEZBOS, the swinging all-women's klezmer sextet, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special concert Isle of Klezbos: Isle of Manhattan! at Joe's Pub on Today, October 25 at 7:00 PM featuring returning guest artist Natalia Zukerman. The band and spellbinding singer-songwriter - whose father, the classical violinist Pinchas Zukerman, is the son of a Polish-born klezmer player - first melded musical minds earlier this year, exploring poignant Yiddish roots and hidden gems from vintage soundtracks, personal histories, vivid resistance narratives, and soulful sounds of liberation. Spreading joy coast to coast this anniversary year, ISLE of KLEZBOS  latest repertoire also features original klezmer bugalu (boogaloo), lesser-known bawdy traditionals, and luscious retakes on irresistible Eastern European swing and tango. Natalia brings vibrant stories and tunes from her powerful multi-media performance, "The Women Who Rode Away," including lush arrangements with backing Klezbos bandmates. Producer Diana DiMenna (The Great Comet, Three Tall Women) is proud to present the return engagement of The Public Theater production of Black Light. Performances began at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street) on September 24 and will continue through December 31, with an opening night set for October 10.

MAX VERNON will continue his first ever residency at Joe's Pub. The special musical guests will include Alice Ripley, Justin Vivian Bond, Ethan Slater, Robin de Jesus, Stephen Trask and Nathan Lee Graham.

Renowned as a comic host around the world, this new show is a departure, putting Hill center stage in the first major dedicated solo show of his long, storied career. Musical direction is by Paul Leschen with original music by Hill with Wittman, Marc Shaiman, Kyle Forrester, Eric Kornfeld, Jesse Elder, and Leschen.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, presents the World Premiere of Scientific Method by Jenny Connell Davis, directed by Devon de Mayo, and featuring RTE Member Ashley Neal, with Glenn Obrero, Josh Odor, Courtney Williams and Carmen Roman. Scientific Method runs October 19 - December 2, 2018, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.  The press opening is Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 7:00pm.

MAX VERNON - the songwriter described by The New Yorker as 'equal parts Bohemia and Broadway' - will launch his first ever residency at Joe's Pub at The Public this fall, Existential Life Crisis Lullaby, on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 PM with special musical guests Tonya Pinkins, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Annie Golden, MJ Rodriguez, Gizel Jimenez, Chrissi Poland, Veronica Swift, Morgan Meadows, and Avery Leigh Draut. The September evening will be directed by Ellie Heyman.

This September, Joe's Pub at The Public kicks off its 20th Anniversary year, celebrating two decades of presenting the best in live music and performance nightly with a commitment to diversity, production values, community, and artistic freedom. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. There will also be a change in leadership at Joe's Pub - Alex Knowlton will become Director of Joe's Pub, as Shanta Thake will inaugurate a new role at The Public Theater as Senior Director of Artistic Programs.

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today announced the cast of its fourth and final production in 2018, the rock n' roll musical GREASE, the most popular movie musical in history. Co-presented by MNM and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the show with a 15-person cast and backed by a live six-piece band, will run November 16 through December 2 in the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse.

KEVIN SMITH KIRKWOOD - currently appearing on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots - will bring CLASSIC WHITNEY: ALIVE! back to JOE'S PUB at The Public for a four performance limited-engagement residency beginning this weekend after a series of smash, sold-out shows.

The Public Theater's production of Public Works' TWELFTH NIGHT, conceived by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Shaina Taub, music and lyrics by Shaina Taub, Choreography by Lorin Latarro, and directed by Oskar Eustis and Kwame Kwei-Armah, opened just last night, July 31, running through Sunday, August 19.
